First of all...Aja has posted this, which links to Prillalar's post here, which links to this.

In short, someone's doing a translation of Harry Potter into Ancient Greek (WHY?) and the word they're using for Malfoy, Malakos, is the most common word they use for 'homosexual' in The New Testament.

Now onto the adventures of Sunday...

So Sunday morning I got up bright and early and had the worst stomach ache of my life. So I unfortunately missed most of Pretty Cure while I was sitting on the toilet trying not to be late for meeting the guys at JR Kyoto station.

Turns out I was mostly on time, and after only fifteen minutes of wandering around, found the guys (Joel [not ], Sam, and Kalvin). We headed off to lunch at some strange psudeo-French Japanese restaurant, and then went off to Kurama. (Yes, that is mountain after which the Yuu Yuu Hakusho character is named. Didn't have time to visit Mt. Hiei, which was close by.)

There's a really huge temple up there and a couple of Shinto Shrines, but we only got around to hitting the temple. (Pictures here) We spent most of the day there just hanging out (it's quite a hike around) which we ended nicely with a soak at the Kurama Onsen. ^_^ My first onsen. I didn't bring a towel, and they only had crappy handtowels there... >_> So I had to use my shirt to dry myself. :/ Oh well. I wasn't wearing it anyway, because of the tank tops I usually wear around Japan.

So we headed back to Kyoto where we met some people who were a part of some international internship program from the Kyoto/Osaka area. (Joel didn't come as a part of the MIT Japan program. He doesn't speak any Japanese. :x Poor gaijin.) Sam, Kalvin and I were actually uninvited but Joel dragged us along anyway, and we had a nice time in this private room in this nice restaurant in the Gion district of Kyoto. ^_^

It was about 9pm when we headed home, and I arrived in my room about two hours after that. =_= Needless to say I was totally dead and just ended up crashing.

It was great. ^_^ We all had a blast. Next Friday is the climax of the Gion Festival in Kyoto, so I think I'm going to be going. ^_^ Whee!

Cracked out dream! XD

I had a very interesting dream last night. >_> First my friends and I went to see the new Sailor Moon (animated) movie, and this was back in Salt Lake City, so all my high school buddies were around and chilling out. The annoying part is that the movie was in Japanese with Japanese subtitles, so everybody was pestering me because they couldn't understand it and I could.

Then the dream switched to me and Destra getting news that they had cloned Sephiroth (yes, THAT Sephiroth) and though he was still a kid (a very hot one, might I add) he had all his memories. (Think of Sephiroth from "A Long, Hard Road" but about 12 years old.) So Destra and I went to visit him, but they (whoever the royal 'they' is, the scientists mostly, and the politicians) wouldn't let us in because he was too "dangerous." Apparently because of that they had sealed away all his memories with this nasty black seal (think: Naruto-esque sealing jutsu) on his chest.

Destra and I were very upset about that, and so spent the rest of the dream sneaking into Sephiroth's chamber/room, and looking through some old scrolls on sealing jutsu that we'd stolen from the Hokage (apparently we were Konoha ninjas) and trying to unseal Sephiroth. >_>

On another interesting note, they're releasing a new Final Fantasy VII game, which takes place 6 years before the game, with you playing as the Turks. I think the only noteworthy thing that makes me bang my head against the wall is that this game's platform is the cell phone. O_o I'll remember to bug Mel to get a really fancy cell phone if she wants to play. ;_;
