The apocalypse is due

| | Comments (16)

My goodness people, it's been a long time since I've seen any X wankage anywhere. Could it be that the fandom is finally settling into a comfortable, low-key middle age? CLAMP obviously needs to get on the ball.

At any rate, here's a new layout! ^_^ Huzzah! It's an SxS layout even! Whoa, who actually thought they'd be seeing a new SeishirouxSubaru layout from me in the near future?

It's fanart however, and since I ganked it from 4chan I have no idea who it's from. -_-;; *sigh* If anybody knows who did this gorgeous piece, drop me a line and I shall credit the appropriate god artist.

And now it's way past my bedtime. Goodnight all. ^_^

I want more Samurai 7. Thanks to those FUNimation fucktards for licensing it while it's still being broadcast.

*sigh~*

o___O I need something to watch.

Sometimes I really wonder whether I'm really as mature as I'd like to make myself out to be. Sometimes I really wonder if I live up to my expectations of myself, or whether I'm just lowering them when its convenient so I don't feel like shit.

Some little things really get to me. Some little things I can convince myself to brush off. Some little things just really know when to get the wheels started.

I really wonder at late nights like these when I have a cold, a headache, and a scraped knee, if you're mature if you mean what you really say, or if you know you're lying when you say those things.

If it's the former case, I have a long ways to go. And I don't think I'll ever get there.

On happier news, I enjoy VGCats because it's an awesome comic. Thanks to Ducky who's been pimping it all over the place.

MIT Medical is retarded

I really should've listened to my instincts today. Oh well. I woke up this morning and decided that I wanted to bike to school, despite the fact that I'll be coming home after dark (and I really don't like biking after dark around Boston.) But I was a dork and didn't want to listen to what my intuition was telling me (that it'd be a bad idea) so I biked anyway. It was first time biking since late sophomore summer or junior fall. Not entirely sure, maybe it's been longer than that.

Either way...yeah. >_> I tried to bike up a curb and didn't have enough speed. -_-;; Bike stopped, I didn't, and the next thing I know I'm on the sidewalk. O_O;; No problem though, I pick myself back up (it didn't hurt much), look at the leg I landed on which now has a nice flap of skin from where I'd skinned it on the sidewalk (which incidentally, is most asphault) and notice that it was startig to ooze blood, but just a tiny bit. Oh well, no big deal.

I'm a little under halfway across the Harvard bridge when I notice there's two rivers of blood dripping down my leg. O_O;; Whoops. I lean over to wipe it up with my fingers, and keep going. This happens again halfway across campus, so I just lean over and wipe the blood up, without anything to wipe my hand off with. Oh well. I get to the MIT Medical building (with 20 minutes to spare before class starts! Yay!) and go to the urgent care center. >(

The stupid receptionist wouldn't give me anything at first, just for a scrape. I managed to get a fucking band-aid out of her but she wouldn't even give me antibacterial ointment. And she told me the urgent care nurse wouldn't be in for a while and that I'd have to wait 40 mins. I got really pissed off and went upstairs to the Internal people, where there was a nice lady who was not busy, who cleaned up my scrape, gave me nice big square bandages, gave me some spare ointment, and sent me on my way.

In other words...MIT Medical, you SUCK. I hate you. I hope you explode. Or implode. Or something that ends in -plode.

On the bright side, since I scraped my knee in the morning, maybe I won't get hit by a car at night when I'm biking home. >_> That's what I hope, certainly. 'Cause getting hit by a car and getting a scraped knee in one day would totally suck. ^^;;

I seriously had a rockin' weekend, despite not really going out very much.

So on Friday night I headed over Mel's little get-together. She was bringing a whole shitload of her doujinshi home, and so brought back the James/Severus I've been craving for ages. Because she's such a nice and awesome person and because the cover fell off during transport (she really doesn't treat her doujinshi as well as they deserve to...but that's all the better for me) she gave me the James/Severus. O____O The most angsty James/Severus on the entire planet is now mine once more.

*SQUEE*

Now the pain of losing half of my Comiket swag is lessened, though it is still there and will be scar upon my heart that will never heal. (*sniffu* My Legolas/Gimli is in there! My GG artbook! My TokiMemo Girls Side artbook! My Get Backers artbook! MY SWAG! *breaks down crying*) So yeah, expect scans within the next month or so. It is beautiful. I must scan it and translate it for all James/Severus fans. (Me and...two other people in this world, I swear.)

Took a nice apple puckers body shot off Alex, despite having strep (I didn't fight with him for the lime) and generally had an awesome time visiting Mel again. She will be missed. ^_^ <3

Saturday was mostly uneventful except for trying (and failing) to get work done. I did go out to Uno's with my dear roomie Destra, where we had a good time laughing about our mutual nerdiness (though we both admitted I was the bigger dork -_-) and arguing about the proper anglosized and Italian pronounciations of "tiramisu." She drew a little chibi Legato with a pizza hanging out of his mouth on her take-home-pizza styrofoam box, and I was appropriately cuted out. ^_^

So far today has been awesome. Met Kiryuu for Dim Sum brunch, wherein he gave me Angelique Etoile. Oh, so much love. <3 Now if only my mod chip would come. *falls over* We chatted, caught up on things, and I gave him a lot of hugs because his love life is the pits. ;____; I love you, Mike, don't feel so down. <3 Then we headed over to Winmil where I broke down and started buying cosplay supplies for Holy Orders!Sol and Legato. (Mostly Legato though.) Holy Orders Sol is going to be a bitch to make. :/ And I'm hella lazy too. I might drop it, because there's Black!Sasuke to make as well as Morimura Sakuya, Who I REALLY want to do. ;____; We'll see how my schedule goes. *sighs* So much cosplay, so little time.

Anyways, the real awesomeness of the weekend was dreaming about Alan Rickman. Yes, I had a dream about Alan Rickman. XD The basic plot of the dream goes that I was at a party with a lot of people, and lo and behold, Alan Rickman was there. I started striking up intelligent conversation with him, and somehow he ended up deciding he'd like to take me home with him (funny how my mind did NOT interpret this sexually at all).

So I'm in his car which is more like a very spacious van, talking to him, when he hands me a super soaker and tells me to go wild. Naturally, I open up the windows, pump up the super soaker, and let it rip on the cars adjacent to us. I've never had so much in my dreams. (Except for those dreams where I'm Sol Badguy. Those are pretty fucking awesome.)

In order to gain suck-up points with Alan Rickman, I ask him if there's a name he'd prefer I call him, and he answers, "You can call me 'Professor.'" This also did not occur to me as possibly sexually sketchy until after I woke up. O_O;; Not that you know, I'd actually mind Alan Rickman being sexually sketchy in my direction. XD He's younger than my father (by 4 years or so) so that's still cool in my book. :D

Anyhoo, trying to restrain myself from working on the Legato costume RIGHT AWAY because you know how obsessive compulsive I am at new things. :/ *cough* Stupid Legato bunny, stop trying to control my body. I shall thwart your efforts with my 9.16 problem set! *mwahahahahahaha*

And I'm meeting up with Yang tomorrow to get my wu-xia. That means Shen Diao Xia Lu (1995 Louis Koo/Carmen Lee version, the best), Yi Tian Tu Long Ji (1984 Tony Leung version), and Xiao Ao Jiang Hu (which is actually Ed's, 2000 Li Ya Peng version) for me! So much wuxia goodness I might die! *LOVE*

It's that time of the year when the weather starts getting cold and Skuld still wears her shorts...

thereby making it easy to catch whatever germs are going around.
Last week my roommate was sick and feeling crappy, so I guess it's my term.

Last night I realized my throat was a little sore, but I figured I'd ignore it. Bad idea. Woke up this morning, could barely talk without wincing. The only time I remember having it this bad was 2 years ago during final exams when I had strep throat and a fever.

I think I just have the strep right now, and not the fever. Poo. I might be inclined to go to MIT Medical to see if I really have it, but what's the point? I won't know until Monday anyway, because they have to take a throat culture over the weekend. :/ I'll just take my penicillin I got in China and hope I don't come down with the fever and the strep goes away by the end of the weekend.

Japan makes you 1337

| | Comments (15)

I think there's something inherent about Japan imparting 1337ness upon its citizens, and even its visitors.

I have my first actual non-fluke (okay, that has yet to be proven) AA. First of all, dude, I haven't been playing DDR all summer. >_> Where did the sudden spring of coordination, control, and rhythm come from?

I almost AAed Mahou no Tobira yesterday...if it hadn't been for those 3 misses...*curses curses curses*

Anyways...Yeah, AA on Love Shine (probably one of the easiest songs to AA out there), and empirical proof (ha ha!) that just being Japan made my 1337 points go up. w00t! :3

Also, congrats to Furry!Sean (not to be confused with Sexy!Kakashi-sensei Sean), and Joel, who are #6 and #9 on this week's weekly Ranking of Guilty Gear 1337ness. You guys totally make me wish I had an X-box. ...and more time.

...and that my mod chip would arrive so I can play #Reload, Isuka...and Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side.

Clever. ^_^ I like.

One Piece this, you bastards.

Just watched the first episode of the FoxBox version of One Piece.

...
it hurt me, somewhere deep inside. Not only did they totally do away with the awesome "We Are!" opening and replace it with shitty rap, Zoro is now Zolo, and Monkey D. Luffy sounds like a constipated middle-schooler.

My brain hurts.

Now I need to go and find Zoro/Luffy to make my brain stop hurting.
Yaoi always makes me feel better. XD

I am singing the song of hosage. :/ Get used to hearing the song, I'll be singing it all term.

On happy news today, despite the fact that I couldn't understand Carlos at the beginning of 9.12 lab (he has a really really heavy Spanish accent) I've gotten used to it and the guy is awesome. He's patient with the stupid people (like me) and is always ready to explain things we don't get. ^_^ Go Carlos! I did well on my first paper review in 9.12 too, so hooray!

I also managed to stay awake in all of my classes all day, despite only having about 5 hours of sleep. I've found it's a rather simple formula and takes you quite far along the road of caffeine addiction. Tea in the morning, Mountain Dew in the afternoon, tea and Mountain Dew at night. w00. Give me a couple more years of this and I'll be well on my way to graduating to a full caffeine IV.

On other awesome news, Mel is coming back to Boston for a visit starting this weekend, and her awesome party is going to be Friday night. :3 Yay Mel! *hugs* There's also the fact that Alex says all my computer parts should arrive by Friday, and that I'll have my new computer set up by the end of the weekend! Even more yay! ^_^

Any suggestions for names? It's going to be housed in a beautiful sleek black case with a clear sidepanel and blue LED lights. :3 Too bad Kokuyou had to die (it was his time to go), but hmm...black and blue computer. Any good ideas, throw them my way.

WHINE: I have some sort of problem set, report, and/or paper due EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK FOR THE REST OF THE TERM. And let's not get started on GREs, grad school apps, and grant proposals.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

PIMP: A Secret Santa community for the Harry Potter fandom. HP Tradeoff. All y'all fandomy people should get your asses down there and get cracking. ^_^ Hopefully we'll get a lot of people signing up, so it'll be awesome. ;___; Sign up please. ;_;

WHINE: Going to be so sleepy during 10am class and 12-2pm lab lecture.
BLAH.

I am...awake!
Well, artifically induced awake through caffeine anyway, which is starting to wear off. =____= I want to doze through my work shift in the library right now. *snore* But things like the shiny internet and whatever little is left from my boba tea are keeping me awake. -_-;;

Today is Kakashi-sensei's birthday, so let's all give him a big, hearty HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a large huggle, and get him ridiculously drunk. ^_^ Yay, Kakashi-sensei. :3

So yesterday turned out to be a surprisingly awesome day, aside from spending large, egregious amounts on groceries, having to haul said large, egreious amounts of groceries home in my backpack (surprisingly my shoulders aren't sore) and getting virtually no homework done. I actually squeezed in watching Pirates of the Caribbean twice (once in the early afternoon and once at night), talked like a pirate a lot, ran around home in my Luffy costume, made yummy chili (see, Luffy does have some cooking skill after all ^_~), and spent about an hour watching Destra draw/color me a cute Harry/Draco pic.

All in all, a day well spent with my roomie.

Did I forget to mention that I LOVE my roomie? ^_^ <3 (And her boyfriend, who is getting me my new computer. ;_______; Oh, I am so happy to have someone who knows what he's doing help me out. <3)

So the 'cock the ass' war I mentioned last week is actually over, probably because I found out who was primarily responsible. *shakes fist at Chris* ;___; I guess I'm just really easy to fuck around with. -_-;; *sighs*

Time to wreak havoc on JoeP and ZZZ now. Their love is so true. *mwa ha ha ha ha*

(And oh yes, about the latest Naruto manga... >_____> So Mikio (my Naruto-fan-colleague from Handai) is predicting that Sasuke will get his Mangekyou sharingan in this fight, and then will return to Konoha because he would then have no reason to kill Naruto. I'm personally rooting for Sasuke becoming the villain of the story, but I can see Naruto beating the hell outta Sasuke...because you know, JUMP heroes never lose an important battle.

Thoughts, my fellow Naruto ninja-friends?

So apparently today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day.

*ahem*

Yarr, ye landlubbers! Today be Talk Like A Pirate Day, so if yer not talking like a pirate m'hearties', Cap'n Skuld'll set yer bilgebottoms swabbin' the deck! Get to it, ye filthy rats!

Anyways, so I had an awesome Friday night at Avalon where Paul Van Dyk was mixing. :3 It was totally awesome. We hit Gyuhama for dinner, and then went Alex's friend's place to pre-party, and headed over to Avalon where we had seats in the VIP section.

There was a big group there, but people mostly kept to themselves and I had an absolute blast dancing with Kakashi-sensei. :3

Saturday I just sat around and bummed around the house (as per usual) and here I am now, in my Luffy costume, talking like a Mugiwara Pirate (hara heta!) and watching Pirates of the Caribbean. :3

Geek, much?

Not work-safe

| | Comments (10)

I think I've always known that fandom would be my downfall. Stupid addictive/obsessive personality! *kicks self* I can just see it now. One day, I'll be working in lab and while my experiment is running I'll stop by my computer to pull up some fanfiction. Then I'll sit down and read and lose track of time, and BAM! the lab'll explode and the only thing I'll have as I lay on the floor bleeding my life out is how hot boy-on-boy is.

I suppose that's not so bad.

So here I sit in the library until 6pm, too lazy to work on my 9.16 problem set, too lazy to read the articles I'm supposed to read for my 7-10pm class, and all that can go through my head at this moment is how much I want to be at home so I can read that Harry/Draco I started this morning. (It's NC-17! Not work-safe! But gods, I want to read it now, precious.)

Obsess much, Skuld? I swear I've got some strange, mild OCD. *falls over*

Must concentrate on work! >_< Must concentrate on work! >_<

(For those of you curious, I've been reading Gold-Tinted Spectacles. Only on chapter 6 or 7 so far {and desperately trying to ignore the blatant NC-17 warning while I sit here and wonder if anybody will notice and what'll happen when somebody does}, I think it's decent. Not great-fic, but since there's boinking in the first 5 chapters, that's good enough for me. I was even ever-so-slightly amused that the author tried for a pretext of romantic development. {The romantic development actually flopped quite badly and wasn't much there at all...but I think in favor of H/D sexx0r I'm willing to overlook the gratutious lack of plot so far, the uninteresting characterization, and the plain dialogue.} I sent another Harry/Draco {which is actually mostly just Angst/Draco right now} rec to Destra, but I can't remember exactly the link to it. Oh well. Here I go off into parentheses hell...)

What was I doing again?
Oh right...working. >_>

(Paul Van Dyk at Avalon with Avatrix, Destra, and Kakashi-sensei tomorrow night. :3 whoop whoop.)

Apparently, I'm a slacker...

| | Comments (9)

So I suppose it shouldn't be news that I'm a slacker. I've kind of known this ever since freshman year, when my preferred time of starting my assignments was somewhere between 10pm and 12am. =_=;; Back then I went to bed around 1:30 or 2am...and now I'm reallly trying to adjust it back to 2am because I've got 10am class Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. No such luck.

Anyhoo, before I digress further, I really fucked up in my lab class yesterday. So we were running gel electrophoresis on DNA, just as lab protocol practice, and the instructions were confusing because the buffers were supposed to be in red and blue tubes, but instead they put the loading buffer and 1kb ladder in the red/blue tubes. Whoops.

So my partner, Anna, and I fucked up and had to do it all over again. Since she's not so brilliant at pipette-ing (I don't understand how you can fail at that, but apparently there is some skill involved that I have and she doesn't), I did the entire digest preparation. I was in such a rush that I forgot to put the actual DNA in the tubes, and didn't realize this until I had already run my gel and NOTHING showed up.

Dude, I am such a dork.

And then Anna freaks out because the TA, Sally, basically tells us we can't get a good grade on this lab. By freaking out I mean that Anna starts crying. O_o;;

You know there's something wrong with the world when I'm the one sitting around telling her not to freak out and that grades are no big issue.

So I'm gonna go in Friday afternoon, redo the lab myself, and give the results to Anna. :/ I've always hated working with lab partners anyway. (Even though they do speed things along.) *sigh* Oh well, I'll deal somehow.

I love how I'm not even halfway through my first full week of class, and I'm already struggling to stay awake in 9.07. I really need that morning cup of tea or I swear I'm not going to be able to make it through that class. Or any other class for that matter. Also need to try to get to bed early.

Man, this term is going to blow. I can tell already.

I should start my homework, but it's really hard to concentrate when what you've got on your mind is a quiet war between someone in your house (I have no idea who's pulling my legs here. >_> Well, at least we're having a good time), and Harry/Draco slashiness (or maybe just slashiness in general) and how much you absolutely wish you didn't have to what you're currently doing.

I was also going to apply for the GREs tonight but totally forgot.
God fucking dammit. I hope I don't have to haul ass over to Brookline to take them. That'd blow.

the war begins

| | Comments (15)

Those of you who know me well will be shaking your heads and going, "yappari Skuld-rashii" or some other comment about how I am acting me-ish.

>_>

It all started during the last half of work week when I was cleaning the big whiteboard in the basement, and wiping down all those magnetic poetry things. Fenway has the special sextacular magnets, with special words like "luscious," "cock," and "ass." So being the regular me-ish slash/yaoi fangirl type I put up the phrase "cock the ass," and that amused me through the horrible experience that was work week. It was sadly, one of the few things that amused me.

Last year, people would have just looked at that phrase and gone, "Yup, that's Skuld for ya'" and been amused/ignored it completely. Because we have new housemembers this year...some annoying git keeps erasing wherever I write "cock the ass" and also hiding/taking down/throwing away/making disappear those three magnets.

Dude, what the fuck.

So last night, after someone hid the magnets (they weren't where they were supposed to be) I wrote on the white board, "If someone erases "COCK THE ASS" one more time, I'm going to hunt you down and rip out your gentials." Now, in a normal Fenway household, whoever's doing this would actually be teasing me and I would have a fun time finding out whoever it was and probably glomping them and trying to beat them up in my own little way and having a good time.

Apparently whoever's doing this is actually a prick and an asshole (usually two good things that go well together, but in this case...no) and actually erased it again. So I went on the intercom and said, "Whoever erased this again better own up in e-mail in five minutes, or I am going to start removing the gentials of every housemembers." At this point, I figured it was still a game and eventually I'd find the person and we'd have a good laugh over it.

Well, later this appears on the board: "You juvenile prick. If you're going to be crude, at least make it imaginative and grammatically correct. Not everyone is stuck in the 4th grade emotionally."

...once more, dude, what the fuck. >_>

So the war is on. The war is so fucking on.
If this person is going to be a fucking asshole about it, then fine, I'm going to deliver imaginative and grammatically correct. Pages and pages and pages of it. Because there ARE pages and pages and pages of imaginative and grammatically correct cock-the-ass-ness.

I don't know why this is pissing me off.
Probably because the person is so set on being a stupid fucktard.
If said person actually said, "I'm not comfortable with references to sodomy" or something like that, I'd probably be nice enough to stop. But being an asshole about it...yeah. I can be an asshole about it too. >(

You want imaginative and grammatically correct? I've got it covered. In fact, I have enough material to cover the entire household. *shakes angry fist*

Nobody messes with "Sasuga Skuld-chan da naa~~" and gets away with it.

This is WAR, buddy, you better be prepared.

(PS. It has occured to me that someone is still pulling my chain and trying to have a good time. >_> Well, in that case, they're getting a lot of free slash/yaoi pr0n.)

Weekend o' love!

| | Comments (11)

Whooo~~
had an awesome weekend. Friday night Malima, Destra, Mari, and I got all dressed up (I was in bits and pieces of my Sol costume) and went to Manray for clubbing. Apparently the theme was 50's gothic horror for which whatever we were wearing was hardly appropriate...but whatever. We had a blast dancing until we got all tuckered out and went to bed.

Saturday was a party at Alex's place. I was so glad I got to see Kakashi-sensei again, haven't been in touch with the guy in ages. We talked about cosplay groups and other various nerdly things. ^^;; Got involved (twice) in the grand old tradition of body shots and Kings, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Now it's Sunday, and I have been reading Harry Potter fic like crazy. O_o This is all naturally Destra's fault, because she reads fanfic like no other. ^_^ So I've been stuck on this awesome Harry/Draco called Dragon Tamer. ^_^ Not a great piece of literature, but I don't think it was meant to be that way in the first place. It's rare you find an author with an interesting and hilarious sense of humor, so if you want a good laugh you ought to read this. >) She's got some lines in there that are guaranteed to crack the hell out of you.

Thanks to the Harry/Draco Community on LJ, I managed to stumble upon this little gem which made me and Destra scream like the Harry/Draco fangirls we are. ^_^ So much cuteness, so much love!

... ellipses ambiguity

| | Comments (11)

Those of you who are familiar with CLAMP (mostly notably in the Card Captor Sakura and X fandoms) will know what I'm talking about here.

Sometimes...those ellipses just kill you.

Example one: X 16, Seishirou/Subaru on Rainbow Bridge. Seishirou's last words to Subaru are: "Boku wa...kimi wo..." and while CLAMP does not reveal to us what his last bubble actually says, there is NO debate in the fandom that the word he said is "aishiteru."

Example two: Card Captor Sakura 9 (I think it's 9, at least) where Touya says to Yukito, "Ore wa...omae ga..." before he is interrupted. :/ Poo poo. Here, there is also no doubt that the words following the ellipses are either "suki" or "daisuki."

Thanks CLAMP, you really know how to kill your fans.

Lately, it seems that Kishimoto-sensei of Naruto fame has taken a page from CLAMP's books.

In chapter 230, Naruto utters in this one panel on the lower left, "Sasuke wa...ore ga..."

While the word he never says there is probably heavily debatable...
*cough*

It's SUKI. Or DAISUKI.

O_O;;

I told you there was SasuNaru love in this arc. I'm sure this huge fight is just to get their sexual tension worked up so they can have hot mid-pubescent ninja sex. *phew* I need a cold shower now. :3

SASUNARU LOVE! SO MUCH OF IT!

My First Friday

| | Comments (9)

Yay, it's my first Friday of the term, and I have to say aside from the tummy aches (all I had this morning was some chai! WTF!) it's not too bad. My day is over early because my sole class ends at 11am and work ends at noon. I bet in the future though, I will be spending all afternoon in lab. :/ Yay, lab. (Please let me get a rec from Langer. Please let me get a rec from Langer. Please let me get a rec from Langer.)

Malima suggested going to Manray tonight, because it's goth night. Hmm...I might consider that. Nothing else to do anyway. Destra's also suggested that I wear bits and pieces of my Sol costume. O_o;; ...errr...if I do end up being pressured into that...well, I suppose I'll be instantly recognizable.

I'll keep you guys posted if I do decide to haul myself off my lazy ass and go. Unfortunately, there is homework to be done. I guess that's what Sundays are for.

On the vein of DDR...Big Hentai Mike made some interesting comments last night:

Skuld: My stamina has dropped in the toilet since Japan. ;_;
Lewis: >) Time to get together with the girlfriend. *wink wink*

Yup, definitely about time. XD *nudges the girlfriend unit* ^_~ <3'

But in the meantime...it's also about time I hit the DDR machine again. I've been lowering my count of greats...I think. O_o;; Maybe I'm finally developing a sense of rhythm? Or maybe I'm just getting lucky.
-_-;; (I wish I'd get lucky in the other sense... ^^;;)

Speaking of DDR...anybody seen Beren Alex One-Hand around?

Almost Friday

Avatrix is awesome. ^_^ <3 *hearts* He was hanging around last night and took a nice look at my computer while I was drinking and playing Guilty Gear to make myself feel better (I think my two best characters right now are Millia and Bridget... O_o;; Whoa, when did that happen?) because my computer died. Avatrix pronounced it dead sometime that night, and he offered to set me up with a new motherboard and some other new computer parts.

He is the sweetest guy ever. *hugs* :3 He even dropped me an e-mail this morning because he'd started looking at things already. ^_^

So right now, while Kokuyou is just plain dead, I'm using the laptop that Mike Short so kindly gave/lent to me. (He hasn't asked for it back, so I'm just going to assume I can keep it. He's got a surplus anyway. ^^;;) I've been using it all summer anyway, so it's not like it's a terribly bad switch, though I do wish I had more memory on it and whatnot. *shrugs* Oh well, I'll have to be content with my current laptop until my new compy gets in. Hooray for Avatrix, who is cool.

Have a 7-10pm class tonight (boo). =_=;; I hate 7-10pm classes, but oh well, what can you do? *sigh* At least it's a discussion class (the Psychology of Gender and Race) and not something terribly thought-intensive. O_o;; I get real bored during 3 hour classes. :/ I'll think of all the pretty boys in the VOYD to keep me company. ^_^

Anyways, still getting caught up with e-mails and RP postings and LJ comments, so if I haven't replied to you, never fear! I shall do so soon.

I was pretty much forced to drop 1.00 today. And I haven't even taken a single class. Basically my supervisor in lab (this really sweet girl named Ying) told me that I'd need to spend a lot of time in lab this fall, and that if I wanted to work seriously, I'd need to free up some time. Since working at the library (basically my sole source of income) takes up about 9 hours a week, I dropped 1.00 in order to spend time in lab. >_>

Well, I always knew I was kidding myself about having enough time to spend in a programming class. Heh heh heh. Thanks lab, for making me face reality a little earlier on. Now my days are still filled, but they're filled with lab instead of programming, which in my book, is a lot better.

Gonna head off to the Intro to Indoor Climbing PE class soon, let's hope they actually have enough room for me so I don't have to cry and scramble around weird places and positions in order to get all my PE credits done before I graduate.

And yeah...swim test? What swim test? *cough* Gonna have to figure that one out too. =_=;;

Why my life bites...

So today is the first day of classes, and so far it hasn't gone too badly except the fact that my 9.07 (Stats for Brain/Cog Science) professor is very obviously pregnant, and probably won't be making it through the term. This means that about halfway through, we get the class taken over by the TA, Tevye. I seem to remember a little bit of Tevye from my work in Lera's lab (he was kind of bumming around the same building), and if I recall correctly, he wasn't all that great of a lecturer. Why am I so screwed for statistics every single time I try to take it?

*sigh*

In addition to screwage, here's what happened last night:

First I got my new computer case and parts. Would be happy, right? Wrong. First, because my motherboard isn't P4, it won't fit the power plugs in my new case. Great. In addition, my new case is cracked. :/ Great job, New Egg. The usual mini-tower Dell I have doesn't fit a second 80-pin IDE drive, so I can't use my new 160 GB hard drive until I back up my current 40 GB one. The 256MB SDRAM they gave me was defective, because they'd put their stupid serial number sticker directly on the contacts, and my comptuer wouldn't boot. Then the new optical mouse wouldn't work on my happy Gakuen Heaven mousepad, so I had to switch back to my old Tokyo Babylon one with Destra. To top things off, there was a bad smell of gas near the house, and as it turns out the stove was leaking, so now the gas is shut off in the house, and I have no means to make my meals aside from the microwave.

So last night I was thinking that at least my computer worked after I put it back together. Funny, that. I woke this morning and my monitor wouldn't turn on. ...Or rather, it would turn on, but it wouldn't return from powersave mode. I'm not sure if that's my computer that's fucking up (stupid integrated videocard on the motherboard somehow fried in the rain last night?) or if the monitor is just unhappy with me.

Man, and I was so glad that at least my computer booted last night after I nearly totally gutted it. :/ Now I have no idea what's wrong, I have to call New Egg and return almost everything (maybe not the hard drive if I can figure out how to take it off the fucking case), and there are three million other things I need to do. I'm really starting to like the way my laptop looks now. -_-;; *sighs*

On the bright side, I bleached my hair last night. It didn't turn out uniform blonde, but that's actually good. So my roots are nearly platinum, and I get this tapering effect where the tips fade to dark brown. It actually looks really awesome. The pictures I took last night (when my computer worked >.<) came out a little too orange, because of the lack of light in the room at the time. Oh well.

I was originally going to dye it blue, but I think I'll leave this in until the roots grow out, and then dye it blue.

*sighs*

If only my computer still worked, I'd consider this term still salvageable. As it is...I think the answer is a big fat "NO WAY." I hate it when things go horribly wrong. -_-;; I can tell this is going to be a pretty rough week.

Behold: The VOYD

| | Comments (12)

This is the entrance to the Vortex of Yaoi Doom.

Let me introduce you to the rest of the VOYD:

-The Blacklight Tea Room
-View of the beds and the hallway
-The far side of the vortex
-Our desks, the game cave, and the blacklight tea room
and
-What you see when you first enter (sometimes minus the Destra, depending on the time of day.)

Destra and I have turned the 4-4 into something amazingly awesome. Come and visit. ^_^

With three days of work week left, I am about half finished. :/ Yay.
This work week is more miserable than it used to be because we are very short on hands (let's just say that most days so far have only been me, Brian, and Brad), the work week manager, Boing, wasn't around yesterday, and there are still people moving around and back and forth. So in other words...work week this term is bleh. On the bright side, it will be a lot better next work week when nearly everybody has to do it and we will not be short on hands. Huzzah.

So as it turned out yesterday, Daniel e-mailed Boing saying that he's not coming back to Fenway House this term, and lo and behold, Destra and I move into the 4-4, the room I had last fall term. :3 Yay! It has a walk-in closet big enough for me and all of my cosplay to fit in, and has ample storage space for everybody.

Yay! I'm nearly finished setting everything up, and I wish it wasn't work week because I am so damn close to having everything out and accounted for and all my capsule figures set up, but alas, I must do work and leave my room in disarray. Destra arrived last night with Alex, dropped off her stuff, browsed some of my doujinshi, and then left with Alex again. ^_^ *fufufu* And Alex was complaining last night that he was tired and sleepy too. *fufufu*

Well, off to work week, fellow campers! Love and peace, yo.

new phone

I have a new phone number. If you want it and don't know it, and haven't gotten an e-mail or a livejournal posting about it, please drop me an e-mail and give me your phone number! ^^;; Because likely I've misplaced it. :x

The Incredible Caulk

| | Comments (19)

The caulking is finished. Took me all morning and half the afternoon to strip the old caulk away, put up the doors, and caulk the sides of everything, but it is finally finished! *lighting flashes in the background* *mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!*

Not sure what to do tomorrow, perhaps paint, or do random things until Destra shows up, moves in, and we move Margaret out, because she is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW at moving herself. *rolls eyes*

Anyways...back your regularly scheduled program of work week.

Spent virtually the entire day in the bathroom ripping off the door and all the caulk associated with it. Then probably tomorrow I'm going to spend the morning in there washing the bathroom door's beams and then recaulking it onto the tub. *falls over*

Work week sucks, did I ever mention that?

On the bright side...
oh wait, there is no bright side.

Well, on the dim side, I just ordered new computer products from New Egg. More RAM, another HD, a mouse, and a new case so I can light up the innards of my computer. So much love!
