This is Halloween

| | Comments (8)

Short Halloween shout-out to y'all before I go and study my ass off for my 9.16 (Cellular Neurophysiology) midterm tomorrow. (General GREs on Thursday! Ugh! How will I ever survive?)

Anyways, the Red Sox parade was awesome. They passed right by the corner of my street and Boylston, so it wasn't much of a trip to see the parade. ^_^ Destra, Charm and I brought out a step ladder to see the crowd, and according to Charm, Orlando Cabrera was extremely amused that she was sitting on a slide. I could've sworn he was looking at me because I shouted, "Orlando, I love you," but meh. :3

Last night totally rocked because Destra, Kakashi-sensei, and I hit up two bars (Lir and Pour House, both on Boylston) for drinking (I had a White Russian and a Rum & Coke) and Jillian's for bowling (they had two really strong Long Island Iced Teas...which really did the both of them in), which was awesome. We always sort of promised each other we'd do costumed bowling...*laughs* So I guess we did. ^_^

Destra, without a costume, put on her kimono, had some flowers on her head, and had blood dribbling down her chin, thus making her Undead Kimono Lady. ^^;; Kakashi-sensei came in most of his Kakashi costume and explained to other people that he was going as a "combat ninja." (Which makes me wonder if there are other things than combat ninjas in the tradition American view of ninjas.)

And if you guys saw Legato Bluesummers wandering 'bout Boston in a drunken stupor last night, that was me. ^^;; I didn't go full-out in Legato gear (I figured the spikes wouldn't be too welcome in close-quarters and too movement restrictive) so I just took the trench coat (which I had to do some emergency sewing operations on, ie: I was missing a sleeve) without the annoying skull/spike accessories. :3 I did have everything else on though. ^_^;; *sweatdrops* The wig made me wonder whether the dizziness I had all night was due to the alcohol or the vision deprivation (likely a combination of both), and the costume itself made me a little more introverted than I usually am, but I managed to ward that off with a couple of drinks and awesome bowling experiences. (I think I would've had another spare had not Destra run up and pinched me in the ass, making me miss two pins. ^^;;)

Anyhoos, we had a blast. Hung out with some random partying people, warded off a random lady who wanted to eat our onion rings and our potato skins, and I managed a 105 bowling score at the end of night being a little bit tipsy and operating off monocular vision. Kakashi-sensei almost broke 40 and Destra definitely broke 70. Destra has the bowling pictures, hopefully she'll post them up later.

I got pics too, of the Red Sox riot, the Rex Sox parade, and the pumpkins me and Destra carved (her Kakashi/Iruka pumpkin is currently up at NarutoFan) so they will be uploaded later when I have the time.

And before I forget...

<3 for Kakashi-sensei

le weekend

My dear friend Charm is over and hanging out for the weekend. I haven't seen her since my New York trip last May, so it's nice to see her again. We didn't do much last night, but we did watch the first three episodes (episode three just came out last night) of Gankutsuou, which Charm found extremely trippy and awesome. ^_^ I find it interesting as well, though I am annoyed (in a good way) that they chose to end the episodes right where the Count is once again introduced to Mercedes. O_O;; ARGH! I want to know what happens!

I'm also amused that the love interest they give to Albert de Morcef is actually a guy. :x If they actually end of getting together, I am going to squee like no other person has ever squeed before. :3 It's kind of sad that Gonzo Animation sacrificed the quality of Samurai 7 to make Gankutsuou...but, as long as they don't sacrifice Gankutsuou for some other project, I think I'll be a happy panda.

Haven't seen my dear Roni around lately. ;_; Drop me and line and let me know you're all right, okay? Skuld's worried when you're quiet for two days! She thinks something may have happened!

Anyhoo, I'm waiting for more Yakitate Japan to come out. It better come out soon. :3 You know, so I can pretend I don't have a midterm in 9.16 on Monday. *cough* And I don't have a GRE on Thursday. O_O;;

ack.

[EDIT]: Destra and I got Alichan's present last night! :3 We love you Alichan! We'll send you something back by Thanksgiving! *lovelovelove*

We Rocked You

The Sox rocked up the Cardinals.

4-0, and we came from a 0-3 deficit against the Yankees too. ^_^ We just made history tonight, baby!

All the thanks in the world to Ortiz, Bellhorn, Mueller, Millar, Cabrera, Varitek, Nixon, Johnny Damon, Ramirez, Martinez, Timlin, Wakefield, Lowe, Schilling, Embree, Foulke, Pokey, and all the kick ass players I forgot to mention in my total crazy state of mind...

GO SOX!

We took the World Series, and we knew we'd do it. ^_^ I feel good, I feel wonderful, I feel like dancing in the street. (Actually, I did join the riot right around Fenway.) Pictures/videos to come.

It was a wondeful night.

...and now, to settle down to finish my work.

3 to 0

It's tonight people, the fourth game of the World Series, Boston Red Sox versus the St. Louis Cardinals, and we're up 3-0. Normally, statictics would say it was almost impossible for the Cardinals to come back from a 0-3 deficit, but I've seen what can happen with 0-3.

I think we have bear in mind that it's the Cardinals, and they're playing the Sox. We're the ones that came back from the 0-3. We're the ones that kicked Yankee ass, and we've won 7 straight games in a row.

So what's one more?

If Derek Lowe is pitching tonight the same way he was pitching Game 7 against the Yankees, I am going to be running in the streets and shouting for joy. When the Red Sox win, at least we make it historic. It'll be an event to remember, it'll be something that will stay with us for another 86 years.

So...

GO BOSTON RED SOX!

Cause I believe.

(...and dammit, I have Tae Kwon Do tonight at 7:30. :/ It's gonna cut into game time! *sob* I can't be miss my precious game time! ...but I need Tae Kwon Do to graduate! Don't be losing without me, Sox. >_>)

Thanks to my good friend Asphodel I have recently learned that they finally got around to making a movie based off of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. >_> While I hold no particular love for Lloyd Webber and his other musical works (Joseph is the worst thing I have ever had to sit through), I am really fond of Phantom. Probably because it was the first Broadway musical I fell in love with, way back in the day when I was a teeny-boppy 7th grader. ^_^ Oh, the memories.

So that brings me to...DUDE. Why didn't you guys do this 8 years ago when I was a fan? And not...now...when I fear to revisit the heydey of my old obsessions for fear of public humiliation. (Ha, I beat you all to it! I'm publicly humiliating myself before y'all can! :P) I might be tempted to say, "I'm so glad anime came along and saved me," but I'll probably regret that 10 years down the line so I will refrain from saying it seriously.

Anyways, there's an official site for the movie up along with trailers and wallpapers and shit (all of which do quite suck balls), and despite the fact that I am ridiculously hosed, wanting to get into the I Love Bees game that Avatrix is into (it's like Mystery Hunt to a whole 'nother level. Oh my god it looks so fucking awesome), I can't stop myself from thinking about Phantom. O_o;; I suppose the fact that I was listening to the soundtrack as I stayed up 'till 4am last night finishing up my lab report and my paper reviews really didn't help. >_> *sigh*

Revisiting Phantom last night really reminded of how touching the story was, and how nice some parts of the lyrics are. From what I've seen the movie looks really nice, so I can't wait until it gets released this Christmas, on Dec. 22. That is unfortunately after I go back home to Salt Lake, and the movie says it'll only get released in select cities, so I'm going to pray (hard) that SLC is one of them. O_o;; (Please please please give me a Christmas movie to look forward too since LotR is finished. ^^;;) I want to go see it sometime with Asphodel, since she is the biggest fan I know (she even read that horrible fanficcy book... >_> Okay, I read the horrible fanficcy book but I know it's a horrible fanficcy book and will acknowledge its existence as the largest piece of Phandom [hahahahaha] wank ever...), and I don't feel embarassed around her fangirling over some disfigured guy in a circus mask. O_o;; (Dare I say that Gerard Butler is hot?)

And one last thing I realized over my trying-not-to-fangirl-ness...

The Phantom is a trog.

(Trog: (origins from Fenway House) Someone who likes to live in the basement [where there is little light], rarely comes out to socialize, and may enjoy copious amounts of meat.)

...go Fenway?

...stupid smart people

| | Comments (9)

Blar. I feel I should be going home and putting on my SPAMIT shirt right away.

SPAMIT is an MIT acronym that stands for "Stupid People At MIT" because yeah...I feel stupid right now. Chris Walsh, a classmate of mine, gets this 9.16 MATLAB program done a couple of days before it's due, while I have been sitting here slaving away for three weeks trying to get it to work. It's horribly frustrating, and I still can't figure out what entirely is wrong with my program because the teacher is being lazy and not getting back to me. *bangs head against wall*

Smart people suck. :/

In other good news, I got a 73 on my stats test, wherein the average was 60 and the standard deviation about 11. That means that I get an A, and one of 10 people in the class who did. ^_^ Go me, I feel like I rock. :3 ...despite the fact that I am not doing so hot at this 9.16 programming thing. Stupid Hodgkin and Huxley. Couldn't you guys NOT have used annoying-as-hell equations? Or maybe I'm just stupid, which is more likely the cause of all my frustration. WARGH.

Anyways, I have a midterm in 9.16 next week as well as my GREs, so this week's gonna be a busy one, especially with me watching the World Series games and Charm coming over to hang out for a bit. We'll see how it goes. *falls over*

Anime blog time!

| | Comments (8)

It's anime blog time, folks. Skuld's basically spent the weekend getting herself caught up on some new shows coming out, so she's gonna give you the lowdown of what she's watching, and what she thinks.

Yakitate Japan
This series has been strongly recommended to me by friends I trust who watch good shows/read good manga. If you didn't think that a manga or anime about baking bread (of all things) could survive and be popular, Japan has proved you wrong once again. Yakitate Japan is about Asuma Kazuma, middle-schooler set out to produce a bread that can be termed Ja-pan, or Japan's own type of bread, as England, France, Germany, and all the European counties seem to have their own distinctive type of dough. A silly, lighthearted comedy complete with a swordsman!baker, I think this show is going to be one of the coolest around.

Bleach
I first got introduced to this series when I was hanging around Japan this summer, and realizing that it was the "in" series for all the boys (and girls) to be reading. Three episodes are out so far, and it looks like we're in for another hit from the wonderful artists serialized by Shounen Jump. Bleach is probably going to be the asskicking show of the season, so you don't want to miss out.

Gankutsuou
I have never quite seen anything as trippy as a futuristic fantasy/sci-fi psychedelic adaptation of the french classic The Count of Monte Cristo. All hail Gonzo animation, whose outsourcing has outstripped us all and produced an interesting feat of eye candy. The main complaint of this series, and also why it first caught my eye, is the stylistic patterning of hair and clothes. No, clothes are not supposed to look like that, but it looks pretty good anyway.

Obviously the anime doesn't start at the very beginning of the book (we're here 14 years after Dantes' incarceration, where he first meets Albert de Morcef and his plan of revenge begins), but it does look very promising. I'm wondering how close they'll stick to the original story. Shoujo fans and fans of pretty, shiny things will like this one.

Samurai 7
Samurai 7 isn't entirely new this season, but I thought it deserved a mention anyway. As an adaptation of Kurosawa's Shichi-nin no Samurai it hasn't fared too badly, aside from losing the view in a few places. It does pull some important scenes from the movie, and it does keep some of the themes, but I find that most of it gets lost in the ass-kicking.

So far I find the movie more striking and poignant than the show, but that remains to be seen at the end. Still, those who have seen the movie will like this show, and enjoy the new character designs.

I suppose that's it for my list for now, as there are several shows I still haven't watched that I will review once I sit down and see them: Tactics (which nobody is subbing...that makes me sad. Somebody really ought to.), Beck (which I hear is quite good), and Harukanaru Toki no Naka de (so when are they actually going to be making something of Angelique and Gakuen Heaven, huh?).

So many shows, so little time. But at least I have the hard drive space to support it this term. ^_^

Kickass weekend

| | Comments (11)

And once more this weekend shows that I haven't spent a single weekend at home since the term started. ^_^ I love this streak of going out to bars/hanging out/going out to dinner with my buddies. :3 Even when my roommie isn't here dragging my sorry, lazy ass outta the house, it seems I'm still getting socializing done. That's good I suppose, though I am really losing out on the tooling and the getting-work-done bit. ^_^ But hey, it's senior year and I have a full-blown case of Senioritis. O.o;; So much work but do I have give a damn?

Nope. ^^;;

Finished two endings of Gakuen Heaven this weekend, thus proving that indeed my Type B version is 15+ and censored. :/ I know that Naruse Yukihiko (aka. the smooth tennis casanova) was supposed to take me to bed and give me an awesome fuck, but no, it didn't happen. Instead there was tasteful fading in-and-out and I woke up in bed next to him in sheets that didn't cover very much. -_-;; Dammit. Now I have to get my hands on the real Japanese version. >_> Perhaps the clone will have to show me how to work this amazon.co.jp thing. Blah, more money down the drain. Gonna have to play Angelique Etoile too, maybe after I finish with Trois.

Found out a huge spoiler to Gakuen Heaven by flipping through the artbook. ...dammit, I would have liked to figure it out on my own too. I would have been genuinely surprised. O_o;; I knew there was something special about Endou Kazuki, my best friend. >_> Something really special. I keep wondering if he's the one I'm "supposed" to end up with (just as how in TokiMemo GS you're "supposed" to end up with Kei, who's your prince from childhood memory), as opposed to Niwa Tetsuya, who you end up with in the manga. Oh well, I shall not worry about it, as I have gotten one of the Naruse endings and one of the Endou endings. ^_^ Now time to get the real best-friend ending where he reveals his secret identity to me. *mwee hee hee* Watch out, Endou Kazuki, Itou Keita's gonna pull out all his adorable switch-hitter moves on you! (I think switch-hitter's the term for being both a top and a bottom? O_O;; Somebody check me on that.)

Woke up on Saturday morning, and Destra was beating TokiMemo GS. ^_^ She got her sensei! ^_^ Too bad Himuro-sensei is not romantic at all...but oh well. Aa iu yatsu da na~~. ^_^

Spent Saturday evening night with Cocoa, Mara, and Claudia who are all awesome people. ^_^ I had an awesome time showing them the coolness that is Yakitate Japan and Midori no Hibi, as well as having dinner with them. :3 We shall not soon forget Subaru-stuck-in-a-box-at-customs. ^_^

As of tonight, the Sox are up 2-0 in the world series. Though the Cardinals are perfect in Busch stadium, I believe that the Sox will prevail. Our pitching lineup is awesome, our hitters are doing their job at hitting...our defense has comitted more errors than I have ever seen in my life...but hey...we're still winning.

...and I'm going to be up late again tonight working. :3 As usual I suppose. ^_^ Nothing new here. Just took some pictures of Sasuke (my computer) and the cute Naruto inside him, as well as finally uploaded all of my China pictures. :3 I'll be sorting through them sometime. Anyhoo...'till tomorrow folks!

FTP up

| | Comments (11)

Anybody who wants FTP access to my music and movies folder should drop me an e-mail so I can set up an account for them. ^_^

Currently calling in the number to get tickets to the World Series. Been calling for about 20 minutes now and gotten rings twice. Unfortunately, during both of those rings, nobody picked up...which resulted in me getting booted in 12 rings or something like that. Seriously, Red Sox people. Watch your frigging lines! Or at least have the decency to have enough people to cover all your lines!

I really hope I wasn't unlucky and caught someone on his bathroom break. Cause that would just suck.

Anyways...The Sox are awesome because they beat some Yankee ass last night. Do I hear 19-8? Nobody cares about 19-8. We just beat them in their own house last night. Whoop whoop. ^_^

Hit the bars about 7:30-ish last night, and stayed out way late afterwards rioting. Goddamn, last night might well have been one of the coolest nights I've ever been in. ^_^ Hung around with Destra (OMFG, the phone is ringing, somebody pick it up, fucking PLEASE!), Alex, Dave (Dammit, nobody picked up! ;_;) as we hit Pour House, nabbed a table near the end of the Astros/Cardinals game, and sat down to watch the entire thing. ^_^

Pour House went absolutely crazy everytime something went right for the Sox. Everytime the Yankees struck out, everytime we got walked, everytime we needed an excuse to stand up and cheer we took it and we stood up and cheered. (Okay, phone is ringing again. If nobody picks up, I'm calling it quits. I've been on the phone for half a fucking hour, and if they're not picking it up, either tickets are sold out or they seriously are all dicks.) The bar was packed to the brim, overflowing with people on their feet and sitting down, cheering and screaming their heads off. (Dang, got the ring yet another time, but no answer. That's a total of 5 rings I got within a period of 33 minutes. I think it's time to give up. ;_;)

After the game we ran out and headed towards Landsdowne Street right behind the Green Monster and partied it up. The crowds were wild. I can't imagine what it would have been like if the game had been played in Boston. O_O;;

:p Anyways, excuse me as I feel woozy because I haven't had food in time since the game started last night, nor any drink in me since I had my last Mountain Dew at Pour House. (I opted not to drink because of my sinus infection.) Gotta wait till my supervisor gets out of her meeting before I can snitch a bite from somewhere. -_-;; *sigh* Oh well, guess I'll just have to camp out on my room during the games. ^_^

GO SOX!

We made history. And I am so proud of my team. :3

I really hate MIT Medical. They seriously don't give a damn about you until you're about to commit suicide or get pregnant. :/ God dammit.

i just went to see them, and they won't give me anything for my sinus infection. >_>

"Oh, we don't want to give you heavy antibiotics, so just wait a couple of days and see if it gets worse. Then come see us if the sudafed doesn't clear up your sinuses. Drink lots of fluids, and take some ibuprofen."

Why do I even bother? I hope my head EXPLODES.

That'd show you, MIT Medical retards. >(

So much blogging

| | Comments (9)

I haven't been blogging the past couple of days because I've been so incredibly busy and hosed. O_o;; And dude, these past couple of days have actually been eventful too! *shakes fist*

Anyways, this is a long trip folks, so let's get started. ^_^

Friday, if I recall correctly was a pretty awesome day, because Avatrix came over with the new memory he got, finally Sasuke was up and running. I managed to recover all of my data from my old hard drive, which after formatting has subsequently been renamed "Iruka." Iruka has about 18 GB of music on him. ^_^ All of my music files (a lot of it the stuff that Omi burned for me a couple of years ago) are currently bumming around on him. ^_^ Go Iruka-sensei! *loves*

Saturday was spent going to the Lord of the Rings Exhibition at the Museum of Science. The exhibition itself was not terribly impressive, most of it was showcasing the costumes, props, artwork (which was actually quite spectacular), and special effects. I suppose the reason that I really wanted to go that particular Saturday was because Sean Astin was supposed to be there. ^_^ Unfortunately the line to see him was ridiculously long (read: 4 hours) and I didn't have anything for him to sign (makes me wish I had the Goonies DVD, 'cause getting Sean Astin's signature on that would totally have owned), so I just observed him from the stairs. He's lost a lot of weight. O_o;; He's now a skinny guy with a big head...which I suppose isn't too different from how he looked in Goonies. ^^;; *big sweatdrop*

Anyways, the LotR thing is lasting until Oct. 24, so if you haven't gone, you ought to haul ass ASAP. It's at least worth a view if you're a fan of the movies.

Saturday night, instead of spending it doing work, Destra, Avatrix, and Destra's awesome friend Dave came over and we went to Kings for bowling and drinking during the first Sox home game. We lost the Sox game in a humiliating defeat, but I don't think I cared that much because I was ridiculously drunk. I almost passed out after just one malt beverage (yeah, my tolerance has never been particularly good...in fact, I think it's actually gone down since freshman year), but managed not to throw up and managed to bowl my lowest bowling average ever. (I blame the drink.)

Sunday was spent doing homework. Just...doing homework for 9.16. =_=;; I still don't have my poject finished because I can't figure out what's wrong with it, but hopefully I'll get to work on it these next couple of days. The Farscape mini-series came on and I took out two hours to watch that (instead of the Sox game), and subsequently stayed up until 5am doing work. =_=;;

I managed to survive Monday with three hours of sleep and pretty much a continuous intake of caffeinated beverage. When I say continuous intake, I'm not kidding. I think I ingested over 70 or 80 fluid ounces of tea or Mountain Dew in a 6 hour period, and averaged slightly over one bathroom trip an hour. *big sweatdrop* I went home that evening and crashed while listening to the game.

Yesterday was mostly uneventful except for finding the most amazing Final Fantasy 7/Kingdom Hearts fanart site ever (I'll post it later tonight) thanks to the wonderful people at 4chan, and studying for my 9.07 midterm, which I just barely took.

I also spent yesterday wondering what was wrong with my head, and wondering why I got these annoying throbbing pains in it every time I moved it suddenly. The solution came to me when I was walking with Mike Salib to Wendy's, and he informed me I probably had an ear infection or a sinus infection. Well, from the way it feels now, I think I have a sinus infection. =_=;; Any sudden head movements or deviations from holding my head upright = pain. Go me. I am so sickly this term. I suppose this means I won't get during finals this year. Please let me not get sick during finals this year. O_O;;

I'm normally not this sickly~! Honest!

Anyways, tonight is Game 7 of Sox vs. Yankees, and we have come back from a stunning 0-3 deficit. :3 Go Sox. If you gotta do it, you do it in style. ^_^ I believe in you. And I also believe in the massive amount of pain that Curt Schilling is in everytime he throws a pitch. >_> We might make it to the Series, but I don't know about us beating the Astros if he's got that kind of ankle...

Go Sox. ^_^ Perhaps God will smileth upon me this year, considering it is my last year in Boston, and bring me a World Series to buy tickets for. :3 Please god, be kind. Maybe Destra and I will even hit up a bar tonight to see and participate in the action...that is, if my sinuses haven't made my head explode by then.

Short weekend recap

| | Comments (9)

Woo, I feel like I haven't blogged in ages. Here's a short nutshell list of cool and bad events that happened this weekend, with details to follow.

THE GOOD SHIT
- hung around with JoeP, who I hadn't seen in ages
- Bowling Saturday night and meeting Dave, one of Destra's friends
- The Sox won game 4 and I went up on the roof and screamed for joy
- The first part of the Farscape Miniseries kicked ass
- Sasuke is now up and running, and I have recovered all of my previous data

THE BAD SHIT
- Got really drunk on Saturday night and almost passed out/threw up at the bar/bowling alley
- The Sox lost game three, 19 to 8. *wince*
- Worst bowling score ever (I blame the drunkenness)
- Didn't get very much work done
- Printer still isn't happy with me
- Almost pulled all-nighter last night, had 3 hours of sleep and am really fucking tired right now and want to crash...except I have to do a presentation and turn in a project in the next class...which is 3 hours long. (How will I survive? ;_;)

More details and pictures of my beautiful Sasuke forthcoming. ^_^

SasuNaru sitting in a tree

| | Comments (13)

I am sleepy. And a little dizzy. Not sure if the dizzy is part and parcel of the sleepy, or induced by the weird combination of Tussin/Ibuprofen that seems to make me fall asleep only about half the time.

In cheerful news, episode 104 heralds a new opening for Naruto. ^_^ And its VERY obvious which arc we're heading into. *lots of dancing* Yay! :3 Oh Naruto, how I love thee and thy plot arcs, especially the one that just recently ended. Anyways, there's a lot of SasuNaru loving at the end of this opening, showing both our boys in all of their bonding moments with (of course), the oh-so intimate kiss we saw in the first episode. ^_^ Neither our boys nor us, their fans, will ever forget the moment that Sasuke and Naruto first locked lips. It's true love, folks, and Kishimoto and the producers know that. ^_^ Gooooo SasuNaru! *pulls out the fic and starts writing*

thursday rambling

| | Comments (9)

Sox lost again last night. Boo. *sigh* Now the pressure is totally on, and the Sox don't do terribly well against pressure. -_-;; Okay dammit, they better start winning. Come on, it's my last year in Boston. WIN THE PENNANT! PLEASE!

On other news, I am terribly sick of stupid people in my classes. While I'm not at the top of my 9.12 lab class (far from it), at least I know what a PATCH CLAMP is, since one of the papers we were supposed to have read was talking about it. :/ Stupid girl in class was answering questions in front of the entire class (we were taking turns being quizzed by the professors) and didn't know what a patch clamp was even when Carlos DREW ONE for her and I was sitting in the front row mouthing "patch clamp...patch clamp" over and over and over again. -_-;; *sigh* I guess you just can't get rid of the dumb ones even at a school like this. (Note how it's usually the girls being dumb and not the guys. I think this may be saying something of about the affirmative action of my school. :/)

Just a small note for those of you who may be confused, I have two labs. :3 There's Class!Lab and then there's Research!Lab which are two completely separate and different things. ^_^ So I had fun in Research!Lab this morning dealing with passaging some cells and doing an sGAG assay on some of our other cells. :3 Go lab experience! w00t! <3

Kind of hosed this weekend, I believe I have a 9.16 project due (is it due this Monday or next Monday? I can't remember. I hope it's next Monday) and a presentation in 9.16 to give. *falls over* No matter what I do, I'm always busy. :/ *poopoo* Midterm in 9.07 next week too. -_-;; Not to mention I really ought to get my ass moving on college apps and whatnot. WHY AM I ALWAYS HOSED? WHY WORLD WHY? Let's not forget SPOONish which I am neglecting in favor of grades and all. *sob*

All I want is for my JPS2 to be here so I can play Gakuen Heaven and watch Destra go after Himuro-sensei.

How could I have no realized that Tsurugi Kai has her own manga out now? O_O;; Yes, we're talking the ultimate and awesome artist of the circle CRUSHERs/Sakura Annin has her own MANGA out now.

Why didn't other people tell me before this? ^^;; I just splurged $30 at Sasuga Books for them. :3

It's that time of year...

| | Comments (11)

It's that time of year again. That time of year for a lot of things.

It's that time of year for midterms, it's that time of year for getting sick (of health, of school, and of life in general), its that time of year to get my ass going on GRE and grad school applications, and it's that time of year for baseball.

I was never particularly a large baseball fan when I was a kid, at least not of the pro league. Utah had no major league baseball team, but we had a decent basketball team, so I grew up a fan of pro basketball instead. I had virtually no knowledge of baseball until I arrived in Boston.

It's hard not to be sucked into the Boston spirit. As the Boston Celtics have been sucking it up ever since Larry Bird retired, all of the sport spirit has gone towards the Pats and the Sox. Mostly the Sox. Boston loves its home baseball team, more than I have ever seen a town love its team. It's amazing. Boston loves the Sox year after year when we fail to win the league, usually due to the Yankees. Boston never gives up hope. We've been saying "there's always next year" for over 80 years.

The Sox lost to the Yankees yesterday in Game 1, 10 to 7. It was kind of discouraging to watch us catch up to them 8 to 7 and then have them get two critical home runs at the bottom of the eighth. I'm not sure if I'll be a Sox fan after I graduate and move away, but I think there's something in the spirit of "there's always next year" and "this is the year we'll break the curse" that never really leaves you.

In other words...

Go Sox.

(and go Hanshin Tigers!)

Onto different news...I am hoping that Sasuke will be up and running by the weekend. As much as I wanted to hope that my computer would be a fun and kickass and semi-well-behaved Ban-chan, I think it's actually a Sasuke. The case came broken in the first place (just sort of like show Sasuke came as a pre-packaged badass with an angsty past), and it's having a hell of a time actually getting happy and working because of incompatible RAM speeds (my board needs DDR400 at PC3200 or PC2700).

I think Sasuke needs a little Naruto in his life to make him a happy puppy compy. >_> Guess that's what I'll name my hard drive.

Pain sucks

| | Comments (11)

It seems that my sore throat is actually due to some viral infection, which is probably the same as whatever Avatrix has. I'm not sure who passed what to who, but at the moment I don't really care and I really can't do anything about it anyways.

So yeah. Viral throat infection, can't do anything about it except wait for it to go away, take some Robitussin for the cough (my cough sounds horrible) and take some ibuprofen for the pain (which is actually pretty bad right now. So much so that it's making me light-headed). If it weren't for the fact that my network is currently down at home, I think I'd be at home sleeping and relaxing. But as things are, for some mysterious reason the Fenway internet is out, I'm really wishing for a spot to crash on campus (any suggestions, anybody?), and I really wish the pain and misery of being sick-as-hell was over.

I'm also missing my girlfriend (as I have been wont to do of late), and wishing she was here to take care of me, but unfortunately we both have better things to do.

If you don't see me online much today or in the next few days, you'll know why. Fenway internet = dead. ...and I think I'm going to skip out on lab today, in favor of getting work done. At least with Destra's computer she can gank wireless from the neighbors. >_> I hope she lets me check my e-mail once in a while, I really need those notes Anna's suppsoed to send me in order to write my 9.12 papers and lab reports. Has it really been a week that I've been sick? So it seems. -_-;;

I suppose the only good that comes of my computer not working so far is that I can hook my monitor up to my laptop, and have a dual monitor thing going. ^_^

I love dual monitor setups. XD Whee! Now I can try to multitask and be twice as distracted as before!

shitty weekend

| | Comments (13)

Been hankering for some DDR lately. I feel kind of bad. I've really been neglecting the DDR-ness in lieu of Extreme (haha, I love my puns) hosage. *cries*

I also tried putting my new compy together today, but it failed. -_-;; I think the 512 DDR RAM that Alex gave me was bad. :/ It fell out of its anti-static bag and dropped into the box where all the packing peanuts. I'm pretty those were non-static peanuts but...well... >_> I suppose there's no telling what's wrong. Avatrix has taken it home and is going to test it out. So it may be another week or two before my new shiny computer gets put together. *sobs* Well, at least we've gotten all the LEDs to light up, so it's pretty and shiny. *big sweatdrop*

I want my new shiny computer! Waaaahhh! *cries a river*

It's been a shitty weekend. :/ Didn't manage to hit the Lord of the Rings Exhibition yesterday because of lack of tickets, but I consoled myself with the fact that I'd get to go bowling with Asian!Mike, Kakashi-sensei, and their buddies. That never happened because Boston has developed this interesting 21+ rule. To go bowling at Jillian's and King's you need to be 21+ after 8pm. What sort of bullshit is that? It doesn't directly affect me (being 21 already), but Asian!Mike and some of his friends weren't. :/ Man, Boston is lame. I want to move to San Francisco. (UCSF, please accept me. Please, UCSF.)

*sigh* Yeah, crappy weekend. No computer, no bowling, just lots of tooling on the horizon. *falls over*

I want to curl up into a ball somewhere or maybe beat my head against a wall until I'm senseless. Yeah, that sounds like a really good way to pass my weekend.

I suppose the only upside of my weekend so far is the fact that we had almost 25 people at Dim Sum on Saturday, and I saw "Shichi-nin no Samurai" (Seven Samurai), the old Kurosawa film. O_O;; It's amazing. So much in the anime series makes so much more sense after seeing the movie. O_o;; Whoa. For anyone who has seen the series and not the movie, you HAVE to see the movie, otherwise you'll lose half the meaning of what's really going on. (Either that, or I was totally oblivious when I was watching the show, having not fully caught half of what was actually going on. >_> *big sweatdrop*)

Anyways, watch Seven Samurai. Remember to make sure your RAM works. And remember not to name your computer shitheads. >_> I'm beginning to think my compy is starting to deserve the name "Sasuke" instead of "Ban-chan," which is what I was originally going to name it. *big sigh*

Random pimpage

| | Comments (9)

My sister's doing some fun stuff in her spare time, so I suppose that I'll pimp her website out. She works a little company she and her friend are running, it's called Habitat Designs where they sell interior decor products, mostly pillows so far.

Take a gander at it, they're actually quite nice. ^_^

That's all I have to pimp out for today folks.

Destra is corrupting me

| | Comments (9)

Destra is an evil corrupting influence on me. >_>
She made me go to sleep early (ie: before 2am)!
What is she doing to my awesome MITness that i have cultivated for years and and years and years?

...I'll just write it off to me being sick and wanting to go to bed early. *coughs*

Anyways, on happy news, my clone just got the happy japanese pearl white PS2, so he's selling me his old one. I still plan on futzing around with my current modded one...but yeah. If that fails, I'll have a JPS2 to play my JPS2 games. It'll force me to buy JPS2 games...which are hella expensive, but since I don't play that many games anyway...meh, why the hell not. ^_^;; When Roni and I move in together we'll have a whole stack of PS2s. *cackles* And I'll have enough spare ones to take one to my lab/office. Now that...would rule.

Anyways, plans tonight: bum around with Destra and wallow in yaoi goodness while futzing around with modded PS2. Then... >_> I dunno. Rent and watch Shichi-nin no Samurai. ^_^ I've been wanting to forever.

:/ Should've stayed home

Ow...my throat is killing me. >( I am so not in the mood for talking. I suppose at this point in time I shall tout the awesomeness of AIM: not having to use my voice. -_-;; Because doing so is just...ow.

I miss my Naruto-kins. ;___; She's so far away in Florida. *sniffu* I'll get to see her come AniBos though, where somehow we'll squeeze in the time to do a Naruto skit at the Masquerade. ^_^ Keh heh heh. Script is already being worked on. I wish I had the Sifl/Olly type of humor. -_-;; I'm so sad I don't. *cries*

Studying for GREs blows. :/ GRE Psych test can go to hell. ... along with my chances of getting into Stanford, Columbia, and UPenn. Awww, who cares about them anyway? >( I want in to UCSF, dammit!

Woke up at 7:30 this morning because my throat was killing me (yay, four hours of sleep) but I'm starting get really tired right now. *keels over* >p Bleh. Spent nearly all morning popping in disc after disc of Yi Tian Tu Long Ji. Just finished the Guang Ming Ding arc, going to start the Tower arc now (can't exactly remember what it's called, sorry). Ah, brings back memories to when I was a little kid. ^_^ <3 I love how my favorite wu-xia is still awesome, even after 20 years.

Work shift is almost over. >( I can almost go home and veg! (And finish my problem set. ^^;;) I can almost go home and poke Destra about reading the rest of the Naruto manga! Have to hang in here...because soon it's gonna be a: THREE DAY WEEKEND!

Whooooooooooooo~~~

I have been staring at my screen in horror for over five minutes now.

My Naruto fic is gone.

...it's...not on my computer anymore.

I could've sworn I'd backed it up onto CD when I was copying files from my laptop to my desktop...

...

but no.

I thought I'd uploaded it to my MIT webspace...but it's not there.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

PLEASE LET MY NARUTO FIC NOT BE GONE.

I don't think I have the ability to rewrite it.

Word to your mother

Took Wednesday off, because of fever. Still have a sore throat, but oh well, no can do. I hope it gets better, and it's not strep. O_o;;

Missed 9.12 class, will have to get notes and read paper over the weekend. It's been a nice and relaxing day. I even got my PSet for 9.07 finished. Since I dropped 9.75, it'll clear up studying time for me on Thurs night. Read: GREs and college apps. :/ whoopwhoop

Anyways, back to school tomorrow. Lab until 2pm, and then work in the library. *waves little flag* Yay.

I spent most of the day watching Yi Tian Tu Long Ji, and I'm almost to my favorite part with the huge fight up at Guang Ming Ding. ^_^ Yay~! My next favorite part, the fight inside the tower is still a long ways off. -_-;; Poo poo. I suppose after this I may rewatch Xiao Ao Jiang Hu before I have to send it off to Ed. (Do you still want it, Ed? O_O;)

Anyways, off to bed with me. It's a lab and work day tomorrow. ^_^

Gonna hang out with my friends this weekend. (Man, there seriously has not been a single weekend since the beginning of term where I havne't been out with people. That's a good thing. ^_^) Gonna hit up Dim Sum and the LotR exhibition on Saturday, and then later head to bowling with Ryuichi and Kakashi-sensei.

It'll be an awesome weekend, I can't wait. ^_^ I haven't been bowling since Japan. >_> Must work on my skillz! Mad skillz, biyatches!

(Oh, and ep 13. of Samurai 7 and the first eps. of Bleach, and Tactics just came out. My life is so full of...joy. ... well, it would be more full if the PS2 were still alive. ;_;)

Love to my home boys and home girls, and to Destra who is FINALLY breaking down and catching up on the Naruto manga.

Whine ... but no cheese

I am sick.
Again.
Boo. And I just got over my cold on Sunday. -_-;; I don't like this string of sickness happening with me. *sniff* So my throat hurts (again) and I think I am actually running a low fever to boot.

:/ This week is not starting out promising, it's really not. And I've only got 1/4 of my homework finished so far for my lab class. Yay. Sleep dep and sickness for me! Whee.

RIP

My modded PS2 has just stopped reading all DVD-ROMs. No TokiMemo, no Gakuen Heaven.

The sole joy in this dreary existence of mine is gone forever.

I'm going to throw myself out the nearest window right now.

Naruto 234

| | Comments (13)

Dude, Naruto chapter 234 just came out. >_> 233 just barely came out Fri/Sat.

Damn. I don't blame them. 233 was fucking AWESOME.

EDIT: OMFG, Kishimoto, you scared the living SHIT out of me! *shakes angry fist* But you did the right thing, man. You did the right thing. I salute you.

...and now, I can resume writing my NaruxSasu fic, because it is all unfolding beautifully in my head. ^_^

Misery

| | Comments (19)

Inability to go to/fall asleep before 3:30am = suck

Inability to stay awake in 10am class despite the massive amounts of caffeine being ingested= argh

Forgetting bike lock in the morning and realizing this only after you get to campus = so screwed

Absolutely no self-control when it comes to videogames vs. studying = taking it up the ass

Conclusion: Need a parental unit.

Life was so much easier back at home in Salt Lake City during high school, when my mother was perpetually around at home, which meant that I was not allowed to do the following:

1) Watch anime during the weekdays unless my homework was done
2) Surf the net/check e-mail for more than an hour unless my homework was done
3) Play videogames until the weekend
4) Go to bed after 10:30pm
5) Oversleep

for fear of my Asian mother whooping my ass. My Asian mother is pretty fearsome. When she gets pissed off my dad and I scuttle off into our rooms, make ourselves scarce, and look like we're doing something productive. In high school I came home from Debate usually at around 3:30 or 4pm, had a snack (which usually was pre-prepared for me), did my homework for a couple of hours until I'd sit around and practice piano, and then I'd do my homework some more until dinner time. After dinner-time was also reserved mostly for homework if I had it, and net-surfing if I didn't. While my life was not entirely full of hanging-out and socialness, at least I got my work done and I wasn't miserable at not being able to hang out with my friends.

...in short...

Who wants to be my study-or-die-bitch!parental unit? Cause seriously, even the far-off thought of failure isn't making me work any harder. -_-

Someone have a safe?

| | Comments (9)

Someone should lock up my modded PS2 in a safe and not tell me where the key is. It should be one of those 2 meter thick, 2 ton bank vaults because anything less than that and I will find a way to break into it.

I've done nearly NO WORK at all this weekend because of the PS2. -_-;; Granted, I have been brushing up on my Japanese (I'm pleased to find that I actually understand most of what they're saying in Gakuen Heaven. ^_^ Yay!) by trying and succeeding in getting Hazuki Kei (okay, okay, I'll confess. I am now a converted Midorikawa Hikaru fan. Those Konami guys got me with him as Kei), and getting somewhere in Gakuen Heaven.

Gakuen Heaven isn't so much a game, as it is clicking through dialogue and occasionally making a choice as to whether you'd rather sleep with hot gay guy A, hot gay guy B, or hot gay guy C. Believe it or not, that really is rather a hard choice. Too bad there's no hot orgy "I want to have sex with you all!" ending. -_-;; Gakkari...

Anyways, still going after my esteemed best friend of the game, Endou Kazuki, who is showing me around the school on my first day. He says he just loves to do that, but I'm sure that what he really loves to do is try to get in my pants. He's being more subtle about it than the tennis Captain, who is draped all over me in every scene I've seen him in so far, and just blatantly invited me to have a little one-on-one celebrating in his room. O_o;;

I'm also thinking of going after Niwa Tetsuya (the Ou-sama who I'm apparently supposed to end up with...and by supposed I mean that he's who Keita ends up with in the manga. There is by no means some elaborate flashback-childhood-past like in TokiMemo Girls Side), because he's pretty sexy. Decision's difficult though, as there are a plethora of men (more than 10, I think, I haven't actually sat down and counted) who are nearly all sexy. >_> The only ones who don't go into the sexy category are the: little nerd boy with the freaky cat, the bike-riding punk with the annoying voice, and the suffering artist (who seems to be the archery captain's lover anyways). The silver haired "pet" of the "Queen" kind of annoys me too, but he's named Omi, and I can never turn down an Omi if he's nice, sweet to me, and wants into my pants. >___> Okay, scratch that, I actually can. *cough*

But yeah...plenty of men to go after. ^_^ Boo yeah. I'm in heaven, I guess. ^_^ Gakuen Heaven. (Or at least I will be...after I drop out of school this term... >_>)

It's almost 5am...

It's almost 5am..
and I'm still awake...
but I don't care because

HAZUKI KEI IS MINE ONCE MORE!

Yeah, biyatch.

Our love is so true.

Obligatory Naruto 233 post

| | Comments (13)

Naruto chapter 233 just totally blew me away.
Without a doubt, Naruto is just plain beautiful. It's gorgeous, it's lovely, it inspires so much SasuNaru and SasuNaru icon-making love.

Y'all you haven't caught up, what the fuck is wrong with you? READ NARUTO NOW.

And check out the icons I made of the chapter. (I need not warn you for spoilers.)

Gakuen = School
Heaven = full of gay

Gakuen Heaven OWNZ. O_o;;
Aside from the copious amounts of text and talking (I would put it right in the middle of difficulty level between TokiMemo GS and Sukisho) it is full of t3h gay. Yay, gay! *squee* What's better than going to a school where EVERY SINGLE PERSON you meet is gay and has the hots for you?

NOTHING AT ALL.

This game rules. :D Now I just wish I'd bought the artbook while I was in Japan. *bangs head against wall* Well, there's always next time I suppose. >_> Right now I'm thinking that I really ought to go for my best friend, Kazuki. If what I've seen from his ending is true, he will bend me over a table and give me hot sex. :P~~~~~~~ yum.

I might also go after the tennis guy, Yukihiko. Not only is he voiced by Miki Shinichirou, he's already kissed me (more w00t) and I get an awesome blowjob from him at the end.

I'm in a win-win situation here. I love it. ^___________^

I'm so glad I bought this game. :D And that my PS2 is now modded.

(Let's just forget about the huge amounts of work I had to do this weekend... >_>)

Will is awesome

| | Comments (11)

This entry is titled "Will is awesome" because well, Will is awesome.
He figured out why my PS2 wasn't working (because I didn't push the modchip in far enough -_-)...and now it works. :D

Oh joy of joys.

I can resume blogging of TokiMemo Girls Side. XD I will keep you posted. Love to you all. (And to Morimura and Kei! <3)

O_Oops.

| | Comments (10)

I'm going to hide now.

I think I might've killed the PS2 I was trying to mod.

No more studying ever...

| | Comments (13)

Classes aren't going too hot right now, I think. -_-;; I have my modchip in, but I am so ridiculously hosed with work right now (grad apps, GRE studying, and just plain problem sets/lab reports/UROP) that I don't think I'll have much time to play. I suppose TokiMeki Memorial Girls Side will just have to cut into my sleep/intarweb time. So if you don't see me on very much this term, it's because:

1) my computer is still dead (hopefully it will be installed by Avatrix this weekend)
2) I'm playing one of four games: TokiMemo Girl's Side, Angelique Trois, Angelique Etoile, Gakuen Heaven
3) I'm working my ass off
4) I'm sleeping (this is probably the least likely possibility)

Blar.

Thanks to Shi who has found the source of my blog layout. :D Go Shi! Let's also say 'hi' to Takeaham, who is someone I know from high school who goes to UPenn and I really miss his awesomeness. ^_^ Hey Hammy! ^_^/~~~

Good luck to Destra on her LSATs tomorrow, and a big 'hi' to Mikhail/CorneredAngel who is stopping by Boston this weekend to party with us on Saturday night. So that's the plan folks, if you're in town on Saturday night, come join us for a happy drinking trip to Sunset Bar and Grill in Allston. Over 100 beers on tap. You know you want to come. ^_^
