Monday woes

| | Comments (12)

Gah! Why is it snowing for the next three days?! *bangs head against wall* It's almost March, Boston, please stop being stupid. ;_____; *so much hate*

Anyhoos, poor Riidi/Alex was sick all last night. He ended up throwing up a whole bunch of clementines in the afternoon and was in bed the rest of the day. He seems better today though, but the weather's definitely not gonna help things.

Let's all hope Alex gets better.

Oh, and check this out. Katamari Damacy fans will appreciate. God, I love 4chan so much.

Saturday Date

What L and Raito do on their day off:

So Mel told me she was coming in at about 9am. I figured that meant she'd probably get here a little bit after nine, so a safe bet was to set my alarm clock for 9am. Well, I managed to get my alarm clock, but I didn't realize that it wasn't turned on. So I think I was dreaming of looking up Three Kingdoms-esque Chinese military strategy when I woke up to my lurvely Raito kissing me on the forehead.

Awesome wake up call. ^_^ *hearts all over*

I got her climb into bed with me, and we cuddled and talked for about an hour until I finally got off my ass to go to Dim Sum with her and Riidi (aka. Alex One Hand), both of whom had never been before. :3 It was amusing to watch as dear Raito got addicted to Cha-Shuu Bao (Pork Buns) and the Bun cart kept evading her. :3 But she did eventually get them, and was happy. <3 *hearts all over*

Next stop was Bubble Tea (or more like Bubble Juice), and I really like the strawberry stuff way too much for my own good. (I blame TB and bad 80's songs.) Then we went to the MFA because we're both art freaks in our own right (she moreso than me), but we still had our bubble juice so we had to stand outside in the cold and finish off our drinks before going inside. Here's where the maturity level plummeted. XD

First we started competing to see how far we could spit the tapioca bubbles (a la watermelon seed spitting) and I think she won. :x On the sidewalk of the museum there was a dead pigeon with it's head ripped off and a split open chest cavity, and for some reason she decided it might be fun to go and have a gander at it. So I said, "Hey, you should see if you can spit a bubble in its open chest cavity." I totally was not expecting Mel to go and actually do it.
...she missed, but it still landed pretty close. It was so gross, but incredibly amusing.

After the museum trip, we went home and cuddled to the Battlestar Galactica mini-series before heading off to dinner. Pour House was too crowded, so we (Ducky, Cal, Alex, Mel, and I) went to Uno's, wherein Mel found mites (you know, little bug-things) on the lettuce garnish that came with Ducky's steak. :/ Ew. Pointing that out to the management got us a 50% discount on my meal, which was pretty fun and cool. :3 Huzzah man. Cheap food is the next best thing to free food.

Then we went home to play Mario Kart Double Dash, wherein Ducky kicked ass and made with them blue sparks, and I proceeded to suck it up IMMENSELY. ;____; (I blame Raito, who was evil and sent red shells at me several times. *sniffles*) It didn't help when I was playing Smashies, and I suck at that even more. .____. Ducky's really good with Yoshi. I guess Yoshi's the closest thing you'll ever get to a duck in Smashies. >_>

Anyways, Mel is gone home, and I'm not going to see her for two weeks *die* because I'm going to San Francisco next weekend, where I know people are going to think I'm stupid and where I'm going to be treated like total crap.

...yay.

I'm so going to UCLA.

=_= Anyhoos. Love to Mel, and all the rest of my peeps. (I always love you guys. ^_^)

And watch for mites in your lettuce when you go to Uno's.

Welcome to the Dark Side

KotOR2 update:

I've finally started my descent into darkness. w00t. Teensy weensy little bits of darkness, but they're there! And they're beginning to show! I'm getting the awesome byakugan! veins near my eyes, and I'm hoping that eventually my eyes will go silver too and then I'll be a fully fledged member of the Hyuuga Clan.

...oh wait, wrong fandom.

XD

99 bottles...

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer
Take one down, pass it around
98 bottles of beer on the wall

Boy, don't I wish I had 99 bottles of beer either with me now or at home. XD Skuld has totally turned into a fratboy! I blame those people at Penn who made me play flip cup. ^_^;; *must gather group to play flip cup now*

Actually, it's 99 days to graduation. :3 A little over three months. Graduation = yay! Leaving Boston = :(

Since We the Fans just put out Chapter 58 of Death Note...

who wants to go on a field trip to Miracle Max?
Raise your hands high, me pretties!

...anyways, Death Note fans should spoil themselves of the Death Note ending because this is what I do when I'm supposed to be working. >_> Yay. I have way too much time on my hands, and way too little sleep.

I wonder why this is? ^^;;

UPenn just e-mailed me.
I'm in there too! w00000t!

>_> The chances of me going there are actually pretty small...but hey... <_<
It's nice to have choices, I suppose.

I hope Lythe gets in too, cause she really wants to go there. *huggles*

anyways, off to take my swim test so I can graduate. :D Love to Mel, cause I'll be thinking of her and how much faster she is in the water the entire time I'm sticking my ass outta the water. ^_^

This entry is dedicated to the awesomeness of my friends. I've been focusing so much on how awesome my girlfriend is lately, I don't want it to seem like I'm not chillin' with the regular crew anymore. I'll go back to the loves, snugs, and cuddles after Friday, wherein I take my clothes off and give her a naked lapdance.

Anyhoos, the awesomeness of the week award goes to Bryan Hayes for being the most badass Sanji ever, and to Maki for being the funniest person in one of my fandoms.

They be awesome people. ^_^
...and now, I'm off to get some dinner *starve* and hopefully take the swim test tonight. I'm debating on whether or not to quit Tae Kwon Do because it's such a time sink. I'd have so much more time for fun and games and anime if I wasn't doing Tae Kwon Do 3 days a week. *ponders* Hmmm...laziness or unlaziness? I guess the answer should be obvious.

For now...dinner.
And maybe I'll show you my interpretation of the end of the world later tonight.

VG Cats just pwned me hard.

Why? How? Read #142

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. And you know, it might be true. XD

President's Day = yay!

| | Comments (8)

Yay for President's Day, because I had a whole day to punt my homework and only do whatever was due the very next day. Punting work = awesome.

Go, two things are on the blog agenda today: Gankutsuou 18 (just a short squee) and KotOR2. I guess we'll start with Gankutsuou.

In case y'all don't know yet, you should watch Gankutsuou. Yes, I'm pointing at all of you. Even those who've accidentally stumbled here searching for Shaman King yaoi. (Sorry, no Shaman King yaoi here.) It's good. It's a sci-fi-ish anime retelling of the Count of Monte Cristo. Can't go wrong there, despite the fact it's about the French. It's good. The art is trippy, which just adds to the goodness. I just finishing watching episode 18 *melts with awesomeness* so I hope you guys are that far into it too. I'd say this is THE BEST show this season.

And now...for KotOR2.

My roommate is so light. Light. Light-o. So light she's got pillars of light spouting from the ground behind her in that wonderful "beam me up, Scotty" way. She's totally "light side for life, dog." I think there needs to be some balance in the Force in our room, so I'm going to try to go as dark side as I can. It's actually kind of hard. I try to be mean to people, but I just don't have the heart for it. I guess I'm just a nice person deep down inside. I have to dig pretty deep to get my mean parts. ^^;; (I blame Mel. She makes me such a fountain of hearts and loves and cuddles that I just can't summon up my usual cynicism.)

I'm starting though, so I'm on the right track to being awesomely Sith. (The Sith Academy has obviously been training me well.) It's just hard for me to be mean to the rest of my peeps because I love them so. Okay, not Kreia or Atton so much, but I have a soft spot for Bao Dur. I have a soft spot for all Zabrakians, as those who know me well can tell you. I just can't be mean to Zabrakians, especially ones with slight southern lilts. (Despite what Sith Academy claims, Darth Maul is Zabrakian. Though that's the only thing I'll disagree with the Academy on. Hence my fondness for Zabrakians.)

Must be darkside. Must be darkside. *working up the darkside power* I hope that instead of pillars of light, I get pillars of flame. or DOOM. Or something like that, cause that would fucking rule. I'd quote something a propos from the Sith Handbook, but all I can find to amuse myself is "Sith do not shit in the woods." I leave you with those words of wisdom.

Happiness is Mel. :3 I got home from Penn a bit before noon today, and she came to visit me at 2pm. ^_^ She hung around after lunch/dinner for a bit while we cuddled on the amoeba, in my bed, and played Mario Kart. (We suck balls at Rainbow Road.) I treated her to Shino Express sushi, and won two sushi bets because she couldn't stomach the Unagi Avacado roll and managed to spill all the Flying Fish Roe in her lap. :3 That means she gets two nights as seme for beating me at foosball, and I get two nights as seme for winning the sushi bets. ^_^ <3

Mel is the sweetest thing in the universe. :3 My day has just been totally awesome because Mel came and visited me. :3 She's such a good cuddler, and we just work together so well. *so much love* She made me a cute little Raito plushie for my birthday, and if my camera was still alive I'd show you guys all pictures of Plushie!Raito cuteness. ^_^ <3 I will cuddle it all night long. *raburaburabu*

Anyways, onto the Penn recap, for those of you who've managed to stick through the public display of affection I have for my girlfriend. ^_^

So I got to Penn at about 8pm on Wednesday night, and immediately I got off the plane and checked the voicemail on my phone. That's when I found out that UCLA had called me back home and admitted me. ^_^ Huzzah! (Hopefully something will be coming from Penn soon.) There was a door-to-door van that picked me up from the airport and was taking to me to the Inn at Penn (this gorgeous four-star Penn hotel run by Hilton) when Andy Vosko, this awesome friend I met at UCLA when I interviewed there climbed on board.

We found out when we got to the hotel that we were too late to join the rest of the Penn dinner mob, so we went out together to this asian fusion restaurant because they had a kaitenzushi corner. =_=;; It was expensive, but hey, at least Penn was paying for it, or so we hoped.

After that we went back to the hotel and unfortunately me and Andy were both very ill-prepared for our interviews, because we'd only brought one interview outfit for 2 interview days. >_> Yeah, not so hot. So I borrowed one of Andy's shirts to wear for the next day, since he was about my size anyway. My roommate looked at me sketchy, but that's okay, she's actually a really awesome person. XD Go Room of Asian Lesbians! *grin*

Anyways, the interview process went pretty well. I only screwed up once, when I admitted to Michael Robinson that no, in fact I didn't know the technical details of how to assay for hyaluronic acid in my experiment. This is because I haven't been to lab in about two weeks. >_> Yeah, not so good. He was a great guy anyway, came from New Hampshire and we touched bases about how awesome it was to see the Sox win in the fall. ^_^

I guess the stories come from Friday night, when the Penn grad students threw a party for us recruits, and I learned how to play flip cup. East coast represent. XD We East Coasters ended up being the undisputed champions of the night, and I spent most of the rest of it underneath the beer pong table, totally passed out from way too much Pabst. :3 More fratty points for me. XD

On Saturday I met up with Takeaham and Anthony Schrauth from high school had lunch, and then Anthony and I headed out the Philly Museum of Art to catch the Dali exhibit. It was sold out, but we had a good time seeing the rest of the museum. The rest of the evening was spent talking on the phone with Mel and hanging out with the last of the grad recruits. ^_^

My impression of Penn is that some of the classes are really tight and the people are really interesting, and I get the same vibes from UCLA. They treated us recruits better at Penn, but UCLA was amazing too. Basically they're the same on pretty much all the social levels, except that UCLA has more peopel doing what I want to do, so I'm still leaning that way for now.

Phew, that was quite an entry. Heads up to Alex One-Hand who is coming down this next Friday and crashing at my place. It'll be great to see him again, and I hope we'll have some more good times. ^_^

Anyways, it's almost 3am and I'm dead and beat. =_= Love to my Mel, and the rest of my peeps. ^_^

I have a future!

| | Comments (9)

Skuld here, currently in Philly taking some time to browse my e-mail before I go off for UPenn interviews.

I got some good news just as I was getting off the plane...

I've been accepted to UCLA. O____O
OH MY GOD. Even before their second round of interviews. ^_^ Yay! I have a future! I'm still going to consider Penn of course, because they're doing some excellent research here...I'm just glad that after I graduate I have some place to go and I don't have to worry about what I'm going to do with my life. :3

*does the awesome dance*

^_^ So it's highly possible all you SoCal folks are going to be seeing me come fall this year. :3

UPenn this weekend

| | Comments (10)

Gonna be at UPenn this weekend. ^_^ Wednesday night, all the way until noon on Sunday. Unfortunately Penn is pretty close to the bottom of my list, but hey, it's a place that's accepted me. :3 If they're the only place, then I guess I'll have to go. ^^;; I really do hope that UCLA or UCSF accept me. ._.

Anyhoos, love to Mel, I hope she has fun while I'm away. :3 And we'll get together next week to snuggle and smooch each other to our heart's content. *so much love*

'til then, see y'all later.

(And to the West High Penn crew: Hopefully I'll have time to hang out and meet up with you guys. ^_^ Especially you and your wife, Hammy. :3)

Weekend recap

| | Comments (39)

This not having internet at the house is a pretty big pain in the ass. I still blame Verizon, who does our T1 line and STILL hasn't come out to our house to fix it yet. I think what's going on is there's a hold up in the bureaucracy. =___= FUCK.

Not that it'll really matter by the time it gets fixed, because I won't be here this weekend! Yup yup, this weekend Skuld's heading out to UPenn for interviews. She'll be come from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. O_o;; That quite a lot of days, but it seems that UPenn has a lot of days o' fun planned for us. ^^;;

Anyways, so the birthday recap: Friday night I got out of Tae Kwon Do and immediately decided that going to the free ice skating would be fun. So I did that for about two and a half hours, while hanging out and talking about fun things with Mikey. I went home, caught Battlestar Galactica on SciFi, and was about to go upstairs to sleep when I decided I'd stay and play a bit of KotOR2. "Playing a bit of KotOR2" ended up being "Play KotOR2 until 5am." So I went to bed at 5am and got up the next day around noon-ish, wherein in played more KotOR2. *big sweatdrop*

So Ducky and Louis got here to go to Good Times, but I was being lazy so we decided to head over to Jillian's instead, because I was seriously missing some bowling action. ^_^ Well, I got my bowling action in, 4 games of it. We were gonna do 3 originally, but Mike Lewis (Big Hentai Mike) showed up and decided to treat all of us to a 4th game. ^_^ In the 2nd game I got my highest score ever of 141 and three strikes in a row in the 9th and 10th frames, which made me feel all happy and glowy. XD Then it was time for Sunset.

The Sunset trip was...well...interesting. Disaster? Not quite. But here's a lesson: never try to cram 15 people into Sunset at once on a weekend. I figured I could do it because I called ahead, but no... >_> They made us wait 2 hours at the place next door before they gave us a seat. And they only did that because Destra bitched at them. -_-;; We did tip them big though, for their trouble, but I was really wanting to knock heads together. =_=;;

The party itself was great. XD Having almost all my good friends there was a total blast. :3 There was so much love going on there. XD Cocoa gets the award for Biggest Pimp because she had a girl on each arm for the entire night. *so amused* They gave me the One Piece 2005 poster for my birthday, and I have to love them for that. It's the manga version too, so it's all of Oda's incredibly gorgeous drawings. <3 *hearts* I love my tiny young friends so much. *snugs*

Leah gave me some spicy cock soup mix, which I have yet to try out. XD I shall sometime, and then inform her on how my spicy cock was. *laughs* Mikhail came down all the way from New York to come to my party and he had some interesting drinks. He and Leah seemed to hit it off, which also amused me because I love it when people hook up at my parties. :3 It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

At about 11:30 we each headed off our different ways, and those of us that went back to the house played a round of Mario Party and Karaoke Revolution before crashing. All in all, it was a good party. :3 It's sad that Mel wasn't there, which means that she also owes me a party. XD Maybe I'll drag her to the next party that Destra and Alex are throwing. ^_^ *hugs*

So in summary:

- KotOR2 is eating my life
- My birthday weekend ruled
- Mel is love
- I'll be gone this weekend at UPenn, so don't expect to hear from me

...and that's about it for this week, kids. :3 Wish me luck at my interviews! ^_^

No Internuts

| | Comments (12)

So Verizon is actually the company that has laid out all the wiring that goes from our house in Boston to MIT in Cambridge, across the river.

Apparently there's something wrong on the Verizon end of things which is unlikely to get fixed until sometime on Monday, which means that I will be without the Intarweb all weekend. =___= So this weekend means no manga, no anime, no chatting it up AIM, no internet molestation of the girlfriend, no blogging, no torrents, you get the picture.

On the plus side of this I suppose, what I do get this weekend is:
- an awesome birthday party with my friends
- KotOR 2
- Battlestar Galactica
- homework (not so much a plus, but definitely something I have to do)

So if you're looking to contact me about not being able to come to my party, or being late, or random other things like that, the best thing you can do is call me up. Thank god for unlimited weekend and night minutes. ^_^

network down

| | Comments (12)

Dammit! The network at the house is down! >( *big frown* I'm currently sitting on the toilet in the 3rd floor bathroom bumming wireless off the neighbors on my RA's laptop.

I hope the wireless goes back up soon, I'd hate to spend the weekend without the intarweb. =_=;; Well, at least I'd get a lot of gaming done, because I picked myself up KotOR2. ^_^ Hmmm...*ponders* Gaming > Internet? We shall see.

Thanks to everybody who commented and e-mailed me about a happy birthday. ^_^ I did enjoy myself today, despite the snow and the rain. :3 No drinking happened, but Destra and Malima played many fun rounds of Karaoke Revolution with me, and it was swell. :3 I was also lucky I managed to finish downloading all of the first season of Battlestar Galactica before the network died.

At any rate, if you don't see me online this weekend, you'll know what happened to me. I'll be catching up on my homework like crazy, and playing KotOR like a maniac. *must spread the love of KotOR*

And as always, love for my girlfriend, who has her State swim meet on Saturday, all Saturday. ^_^v

UCLA recap & Birthday plans

| | Comments (11)

Tadaima! ^_^

Huzzah, I'm home from UCLA, after having missed 2 days of classes! *urk* Now I have a whole shitload of catching up to do for the two days I missed, but I've had a great time in SoCal. ^_^ I have to say I love UCLA. It's amazing, especially compared to what's going on at MIT. It's so big and there are so many amazing facuilty in the Neuroscience Program, and they're all such a huge range of work. I'm really excited I got invited, and I really hope I get accepted into the program. ^_^

It was fun hanging out and meeting other prospective grad students. I think there were about 23 people in my round of interviews, and probably about the same next month in the 2nd round of interviews. They say they'll be making some preliminary offers in the next week or so, and then make the rest after they've interviewed everybody. ^_^ I don't really expect them to contact me, but who knows? I'll let everybody know if I hear from them earlier than I expect to.

Thanks to everybody who wished me luck on my interviews. I think I did pretty well. UCLA was really relaxed and nobody grilled me on questions at all; the faculty interviews went more like casual conversations rather than interviews; they really did a good job with putting the students at ease. It seems like nobody really gave the rest of us applicatants a hard time.

Overall, I really like UCLA. Even if they were the only school to accept me, I'd be happy because I got such an impression of openness and awesomeness. ^_^ In two weeks I haul my ass off to UPenn (after missing 3 days of classes), and the UCLA kids who interviewed there last week said they had a lot of fun, and they really enjoyed it too. :3 Personally, if I get accepted into all schools I've got interviews at, I think the final decision will come down to UCLA and UPenn, but hey, UCSF isn't out of the running yet, despite the bad vibes I've been getting from them so far.

Anyways, I've got a lot of reading to catch up on (I spent the flight to LA writing RaitoxL smut and the way back I spent reading Snow Crash), so...

BIRTHDAY MOB PLANS

Those of you who haven't gotten an e-mail about the logistics of my b-day party (or want one), it'll be 7pm at Sunset Grill & Tap on Saturday Feb. 12, but you can meet the gang at Fenway House where we'll be heading out at 6:15pm. ^_^ Maybe we'll even get together for gaming at Good Times earlier that day, maybe about 2pm or 3pm-ish. :D We'll see. Let me know if you're interested in heading out to game.

Greetings from (sunny) LA

| | Comments (10)

It's raining in LA right now! AUUUUUGH! So much for the "sunny LA" sort of myth.

Anyways, UCLA is really awesome. I don't have much time until my next round of faculty lectures (I can't miss them, or I'll totally get my ass kicked!), so just a quick message to all here. ^_^ I love LA, I love the UCLA campus (so much more gorgeous than MIT), and even though it's raining right now, the weather is still a million times better than what I'd have to live through in Boston. :3

No regular internet access, so don't expect to see me until Tuesday night, when I get back. :3

*hugs for all, and especially for Mel* :D

Wish me luck on my interviews tomorrow, guys! ^_^

Feelings of weirdness

| | Comments (9)

There's something weird about my bed. I can't quite pinpoint why my bed doesn't feel like my own and I keep waking up with parts of my back or my shoulders sore. Maybe I'm sleeping funny because somehow my body doesn't associate my bed as my own? Maybe it's because the first couple of nights I was sleeping in the bed I was feverish and delirious and somehow my body has just decided that that's not my bed, that I should be sleeping elsewhere. Or maybe I'm just trying to be too careful at night in not squeaking, because my loft is pretty squeaky.

Yeah, I know, I'm talking about some weird unconscious immune rejecting of my bed. Just bear with me here for a couple of minutes?

Maybe it's all the plushies I have crowing my bed that's making me sleep funny? I have no idea. But every morning I wake up, and I have this odd sense of disorientation, like I've woken up not where I went to sleep or like I've woken up in somebody else's bed. It's very odd. I hope my body and my brain knock it off soon, because I would like to get a real good night of rest once term starts picking up.

On other notes, my quadriceps are killing me. I think it was all those squats they made me do in Tae Kwon Do on Wednesday. I'm seriously walking like an old lady here, it's quite sad. =_=;; I was walking around the halls last night and Brian said to me, "Are you limping?" x_x I didn't know it was that obvious. But yes, if you see me hobbling about campus or wincing when I go down the stairs at home, it's entirely the fault of Tae Kwon Do being hardcore and brutal. Muscles go, "Ooowwww!"

I got my hair cut this morning. It was a little too shaggy for me to look even remotely respectable for my UCLA interviews this weekend. I like the shaggy L-ish look, but there's a different between "my hair is shaggy because I want it to be" and "my hair is shaggy because I'm too lazy to get my hair cut," and I was unfortunately sporting the latter. Now hopefully I'm sporting the former. I'm still fighting with my bangs not to have the part going on (I'm always fighting against my hair, ever since I got it cut two years ago), but after a few days I may just give up.

Death Note fans, never fear, I will probably have my hair all over the place and L-ish again by the end of the month. My hair tends to grow in unruly ways. ^_^;;

Anyways, if you don't see me blog at all this weekend, it's because I'm in LA. That's right, I have grad school interviews with UCLA this weekend, and I'm not going to be back until late Tuesday night. (I might even have to run from the airport directly to class! Huzzah!) ^_^ Wish me luck, people, because UCLA is definitely one of the places I'm totally aiming to go to for grad school. :D

I'm sad I'll be missing the huge Patriots Holiday here in New England (I can't believe I'm going to be away for Superbowl Sunday when the Pats are playing! ;_; Well, at least I was here for the Red Sox wins), so everybody who's going to be partying, party it up extra for me! ^_^

I'll also be missing talking on AIM with the girlfriend, but such is life. ;_; We'll make up the time somehow, when she finds time to get down here or I find myself a ride up there. <3 *lots of love for Mel*

A moment of 'AUGH!'

| | Comments (9)

I swear to god the world has a conspiracy against me in which it sucks up all my time no matter how much or how little of it I actually have. This may be the fact that my recent illness has been forcing me to go to bed at a 'decent' hour (12-1:30am-ish to be precise), and thus I have been getting up early (*gasp!*) at about 9:30am with 7+ hours of sleep behind me.

What is the world coming to when I get 7+ hours of sleep and go to bed before 3am? WTF, mate.

There are so many things I have to do before I pack my bags and head for UCLA this weekend; I have to finish all of my homework due at the beginning of the week next week (because I'll be gone until late on Tuesday), I have to read the papers of the prospective labs I want to go to at UCLA, I have to stop off at lab (even if I just pop in to talk to Ying), I have to catch up on 2 weeks worth of raw Death Note (go Japanese powaa!), and somewhere in the middle I should be finding time to AIM-cuddle my Raito, get my hair cut (it's way to shaggy for me to look respectable for this weekend's interviews), and sleep.

I'm convinced this is all the bad karma coming back to me because I had too much fun playing in the snow two weeks ago.

I feel awesome

| | Comments (11)

This is one of those rare times when I feel totally fucking awesome, and nothing can get me down short of gravity itself. XD

Not even the two hours of hell I just went through for Tae Kwon Do (if I ever have to punch and kick again, I'm going to go bonkers). Who knew the first class of the new semester would be so brutal? My muscles protest when I walk up the stairs now. Oooowww. And I get to do this all over again on Friday! Yaaaay!

Anyways, that's not what I'm all giddy and happy over.
I'm all giddy and happy and jumping out of my seat in joy because...

*dun dun dun!*

I have a girlfriend! Skuld is going out with somebody! This time I have managed to shrink the long-distance thing to only a state away! (So I've gone from Utah, to Illinois, to New Hampshire! Look at how much I've been improving!) w00t! I am awesome! My girlfriend is also teh awesomess!

Those of you who don't live with me in the immediate vicinity can't hear the little palpitations of my heart going "doki doki doki" every time I'm talking with my Raito. :3 If you don't live with me you also probably haven't heard me loudly crushing on my Raito.

That's right, my Raito is my girlfriend. All your Death Note yaoi (yuri?) dreams have come true.

I will now break out into squees as I play Mario Kart. *squee!* :D *throws a red shell*

My 22nd birthday is in a little over a week (it's Thursday, the 10th), so I figured I ought to give you all ample time to plan and prepare. You all should come on over to Boston and spend the weekend carousing with me and whoever else is coming. ^_^ As it currently stands, I'm flexible on whether I make the Sunset trip on a Friday night or a Saturday night, so if you guys have a preference, please let me know.

Yes, Sunset is the place where I held my birthday party last year, and I'll just say right now that I promise I won't throw up, die, or sit in the bathroom trying not to do the two aforementioned things for over half an hour. Since I'm a mellow 22 now, I will be planning on remembering this year's party. *grins*

Keep next weekend open my friends, because it's time to party at Skuld's place. ^_^ I might also plan a pre-Sunset bowling trip at Kings, or maybe substitute that with some good old Mario Kart action. We shall have to see.

First day of classes

Whee! It's the first day of classes today, and I'm actually awake! Ask me again sometime next week and I probably won't be, but I suppose I shall enjoy my awakeness in class while I can.

Here's the courseload for this term:

9.18: Developmental Neurobiology
21W.765: Interactive and Non-Linear Narrative
21F.038: Culture and Politics of Contemporary China
CMS.922: Making Games

Oh, last term of senior year is always so sweet. ^_^ Finally taking "fun" classes and other things I actually enjoy. :3 I guess the sad part of this being my last semester of college is realizing how much I actually want to be out of here. I've been here at MIT for four years, and I've realized that I'm ready to leave, to go somewhere else. I've always been a forward-looking person, and even though I don't feel like I'm old enough to be holding a B.S. degree, I feel like it's about time I ventured somewhere else to continue my career. Even though I'm going to be 22 in a little over a week, I still feel like I'm a kid. I shouldn't be all grown up! I'm still Little Skuld, hanging out with the younger kids and playing the kid games. *sigh*

Hopefully this term will be kinder to me than last term. Especially once I actually get into grad school. Ohhh...booya.
