Jumpin' on the meme wagon once more.
I got this meme from just about everybody.
For those of you not interested in memes, I suggest you guys take a gander at The best 25 Sesame Streets skits ever, or so this one guy says.
a. Post a list of 15 fandoms.
b. Have your friends list guess your favourite character from each one.
c. When guessed, bold the line, include the character name, and write a sentence about why you like that character.
My favorite fandoms in chronological order:
1. Star Trek: The Next Generation
2. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
3. Star Wars - Darth Maul [naruto_nerd]
I have to say there was always something that drew me to Darth Maul, even when I was looking at publicity pictures in Time Magazine before TPM was released. I think it was the intensity, the presence he posessed onscreen which in my opinion, is still unrivalled in Star Wars to date. Darth Maul is badass and he knows it. I like that sense of confidence in people. I like people who know who they are and what they're going to do. It's damn hot and well, the awesome wushu moves don't hurt. ^_~
4. Battlestar Galactica (the new one) - Galactica!Boomer [Dev]
This one was pretty tough for me. It was hard for me to pick a favorite character in the new BSG series because I love them all -- even wimpy, wretched Gaius Baltar. I think I feel for Galactica!Boomer the most though, because I know how it feels to be the only different one amongst a whole sea of people, and to not want your difference to be true.
5. Final Fantasy VI - Edgar [naruto_nerd]
I think Edgar Roni Figaro was the first fictional character I ever had a crush on. To my dismay, I have a big soft spot for womanizers and playboys, at least in imaginary realms. And you must admit, he was pretty damn awesome because not only did he have that chainsaw and that drill, he could hold the Atma Weapon.
6. Final Fantasy VII - Sephiroth [Mikey]
I have a thing for silver (not white! Silver!) hair. I have no idea where it comes from, but silver hair is one of my kinks. Add that to the fact that Sephiroth is amazingly good-looking and a complete and total badass (see the Darth Maul argument, though I have to admit he doesn't quite have Darth Maul's intensity), so I don't see why all the girls haven't fallen for him. o_o Apparently some girls prefer the personality-devoid eggplant known as Cloud Strife. *shrugs* More Sephiroth for me, I guess.
7. Final Fantasy X - Auron [naruto_nerd]
Despite being a struggling-to-pass-classes MIT freshman at the time, Auron really caught my eye. He was one of the few to break Skuld's "I like bishounen/seinen" rule, and to this day I'm quite sure why. I really identified with Auron, which I find rather weird because I feel there's nothing about me to really identify with. Perhaps it was his determination and that he knew where his fate lay and still wasn't afraid to do what he had to. That's pretty badass. (See a trend here, my friends?)
8. Chrono Trigger - Magus & Frog [Mikey]
I must admit I don't remember much about Chrono Trigger. I think I liked Magus and Frog because not only were they both badass, they were very different from the rest of the crew. I felt they really had pasts which changed them and shaped them, and I think that gave them an extra depth which I felt I was in touch with. And hey, they were kinda cute too. :3 I've always loved little froggies. ^_^ They're so adorable. *squee*
9. Condor Heroes (She Diao/Shen Diao) - Yang Guo [naruto_nerd]
I don't think anybody's actually seen/read this, but I'll write a few sentences anyway. It's all about his devotion to what he believes, and how he's willing to stand up and tell others he doesn't give a shit about what they think of him, he's going to do what he wants anyway. There are many times I wish I could be little more like him.
10. Knights of the Old Republic
11. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Marvin [anasai]
Marvin amused me greatly. At the time I was reading the series (and I was pretty young back then), I could find nothing more amusing than the fact that Marvin was an eternally depressed droid with low expectations. Best commentary ever.
12. One Piece (one left) - Luffy [naruto_nerd]
If I could be any anime character, I'd be Luffy, and I wouldn't even think twice about it. In a lot of ways Luffy leads my dream life. He's completely angst-free. He kicks a lot of ass. He knows what he wants to do and he's going to do it -- no ifs, ands, or buts. And he knows about the value of friendship of what being a nakama is all about, and I think a little bit of One Piece is what the whole world needs.
13. Tolkien's Arda (LotR & The Silmarillion)
14. Farscape - John Crichton [anasai]
You can't beat John Crichton. Aeryn is a close second with her complete badassness (remember in the mini-series when she'd just given birth and was shooting her way out of an ambush? Yeah. BADASS.), but it's hard to beat John who is obviously unstable, has some of the best lines in the whole damn show, and names the Scorpious-voice in his head "Harvey." As a testament to how hardy mankind is, I salute you, John Crichton.
15. Redwall
Guess away friends. :3 I picked a lot of non-obvious fandoms.
