Round 24601 ... FIGHT!

| | Comments (7)

O_O;; I never thought I'd ever see this.

The things you find on the internet... ¬_¬

(link courtesy of Jeff.)

The answer is 'yes,' I have downloaded it, and no, I haven't bothered with learning the moves yet, but I suspect that parts comes later this afternoon, after I get some sleep.

First, a GODDAMMIT! Why aren't they selling the mask? WHY? WHY? I want one so bad. *proceeds to bang head against wall* FUXX0r~

Okay, now that I've settled down...

Pictures and videos from the party! Boy was it a wild night. I never thought things could get better than the Saturday night Anime Boston party we threw, but I was dead wrong. This was better, way way way better. And those of you who couldn't make it should be sad, because you missed a mighty fine time.

Next time I'm in town, or you guys happen to be in LA, I'll throw another wild bru-ha-ha.

The folder of pics is here.

- We started off the night with Matt being silly and air guitaring with the pantyhose & cotton penis he plucked off my door.

- The first arrivals, and the first core group of drinkers we found: Byron, Skuld, Dan, Destra in the back row, and Ian, Matt, and Alex in the front. (Left to right.)

- Byron and Skuld after finishing their forties, are totally toasted.

- Our second group of drinkers. Dan, Mikhail, Trevor, Destra, Ian, Alex, and Shelley.

- Shelley with her one forty of Bud.

- Dan is awesome.

- Destra kept making this face while she was drunk. I wonder if her face is going to freeze in that one night when she's totally plastered.

- Byron found a tiny yellow duck, so he proceeded to ride it like a chocobo. [movie]

- OMG everybody, it's in MOVIE MODE!

- Ian, Will, Destra, Trevor, and Dan. Oh how I will miss them when I am gone. *sniffle* ;_;

- Apparently Byron has the hots for Ender, who is transgendered. He'd even be gay for him. HOT SHIT, dude. Here's the proof he said that. [movie]

- I was planning to get some good porn material, but all I was Mikhail singing the Russian national anthem. ...or at least that's what I think he's doing. He might have been trying to talk, but I'm not sure. [movie]

- Byron was the first person to boot & rally, and the first person to pass out. We had a good time drawing a penis on his forehead, and writing "GAY BOI" on his arm. [dan's string of pictures]

- We also drew some pictures on Mikhail, but I'm sad they didn't turn out. ;_; [dan's picture]

- Me and Destra having a marker fight. [dan's movie]

- My Sith Master, Darth Christopher Robin. Who has taught me how to waltz. Curses! I can't slay him until I learn all his dance moves. >_>

- Byron, passed out.

- Everybody in the morning. Notice that I am conspicuously absent, not because I was behind the camera, but because I was still passed out in my bed. ^_^

Anyways, the part we're missing in these pictures is where we ran across the street to the playground, did a whole shitload of swinging on the swing sets drunkenly and dragged some strangers home to drink with us. Man, what a night.

Thanks to everybody: Matt, Alex, Byron, Dan, Jack, Ian, Trevor, Mikhail, Shelley, Destra, Malima, Will, and Darth Christopher Robin for coming to the party and making it awesome.

Edward Fortyhands ruled.

I'd show you guys pictures and movies and tell the story ('tis a long tale, fraught with much drunkenness and peril, but it is highly awesome so it is worth the time), but I just finished writing fic and it's 6am, and I think I'm going to go to sleep for at least the next 6 hours.

ROFL

Edward Fortyhands party today! ^_^ Come to Fenwy and drink with us! :D We'll also be playing flip cup and beer pong, which means you should be here to represent! ^_^

Anyways, here, have an amusing link that made me laugh.

The Super Squad

| | Comments (9)

I just watched "Mystery Men." Again. I really really enjoy that movie, despite the fact that I think nearly everybody else seems to hate it. Oddly enough I've never met somebody who actually hates that movie, but the critics all didn't like it.

I suspect it might have somewhat of a cult following, because of its coolness and awesome cast. Come on. Hank Azaria? Ben Stiller? Janeane Garofalo? Paul Reubens? Geoffrey Rush? Does it get any better? It does not.

I think I'm really suited to the kind of tongue-in-cheek humor that only people like me find amusing. :/ Obviously, since the majority of people seem to the movie sucks, there needs to be more people like me out there. ^_^ *cough*

Yeah right. ¬_¬ Anyways, I'm all happy and cheery and hyper now because I saw Mystery Men and I LOVE IT.

Off to play Jade Empire for the next...oh... =_=;; 8 hours of my life.

Party tonight, my friends. Don't miss it! :D

PARTY!

| | Comments (7)

Party this Saturday!
If you're from LiveJournal please see here.

If not, just show up at Fenway House this Saturday night at 9pm, with forties and whatever other beer you feel like drinking.

It's Edward Fortyhands, my friend ^_^

I have now seen Kingdom of Heaven three times.

Count me in as officially obsessed.
Oh, who am I kidding? I'm one of the most active mods on the King Baldwin LJ Community.

I'm just crazy like that. ^_^

Went to Sunset afterwards with Kakashi-sensei who was a wonderful gentleman to treat me. ^_^ ~<3

Now I am well-fed, boozed up, and awake, which means it's time for me to finish that Baldwin/Balian fic I've been slogging away at for the past five days. :D

Jade Empire

| | Comments (7)

So I was going to write fic...
lots of it...
and maybe watch B5..
but guess what just happened? X3

Alex just lent me his XBox and Jade Empire.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Chris: *drawing a moat, a wall, ramparts and parapets* Okay, so here's your dude...
Skuld:*cracks up*
Chris: ...what?
Skuld: *can't breathe*
Chris: Okay, what did you drink? Was it some anti-freeze?
Skuld: *still wheezing with laughter* It was the Drain-O.
Chris: Well, that explains the strange squeaking noises...
Skuld: I'm in ur base, killing ur d00dz...

I love how some random things in everyday life remind me of /b.

New layout!

| | Comments (7)

Do you guys remember back in the day when I was full of creative juices and making layouts every 2-3 weeks?

Too bad I'm old and wrinkled and dry now, you guys are lucky to get a layout every 2-3 months. X3 That's because more and more I am moving in the direction of LiveJournal and its evil ways.

It's EVIL! Gah, I will resist its nasty temptations!

Anyways, this time it's Gungrave, because I have so much love for it. Really wanted to do a Kingdom of Heaven Baldwin/Balian layout, but I have yet to get off my lazy ass and find good screenshots, so this is all you guys get for the meantime. ^_^ Enjoy.

I blame B5

| | Comments (7)

It is almost 6am and I am not yet done with the Baldwin/Balian I'm writing. I hate writing set-up for relationships. It takes so goddamn long. I should just write PWPs from now on, goddammit.

AUGH. I blame the badness of the pilot of Babylon 5 sapping my creative juices. =_=;; This'll be pretty long for a one-shot, I think. My brain is telling me not to sleep until I finish, but as the sun is rising, it signals to me that it's about time I clambered into bed and slept away the rest of the morning.

Nightshifting my hours totally rules. STFU, real world!

2 to 6 are my hours, baby!

Congrats

Went to the Pops with Destra and her family last night, skipping out on the last part of the housemeeting, which I am told, I am lucky to have skipped out on. ^_^ There was this nice band called Pink Martini performing, and I really like their music. Currently debating buying their albums, but I'm poor out of my mind at the moment. =_=;; Blar.

At the housemeeting, we ended up kicking out Harald, which is good because he's a horrible housemember. Given that I technically controlled 6 votes (5 proxied through me), my votes along could've kicked him out. (Skuld controlled the Senate. X3) But I'm glad a lot more people agreed with Harald being terrible for the house. As in, WORST HOUSEMATE EVAR.

Anyways, went to Destra's graduation today, and going to go to dinner with her father's side of the family soon. ^_^ Maybe after a nap, or more Balian/Baldwin pr0n. :x

Anyhoos, congrats to Destra, who is now really, officially gradumacated.

=_=;; Fuck fuckitty fuck fuck fuck.

Destra's upset that I'm missing dinner and the Boston Pops with her parents tonight because there's the end-of-year housemeeting at Fenway House tonight. This is a big housemeeting. This is an important housemeeting. And I can't blow it off for anything tonight. And Destra's upset because I agreed to go to dinner with her family tonight and now I can't. She thinks I'm blowing them off, but I'm not. I just can't make it because I have obligations I have to see to. I don't think she understands what Fenway House means to me, and has meant to me over the years.

ARGH.

I have a certain set of priorities and duties that I must fulfill. In the grand scheme of things, my obligation to Fenway House is pretty high on that list. I'm House Manager. I've lived here for four years, I'm proxying votes for 3 people. I can't miss this meeting, and Destra's upset. Yeah, I called the house meeting a week ago. Yeah, I totally forgot that I was going to dinner and the Pops with her family tonight, but that's what's happens when she just tells me, "oh, it's Saturday," and doesn't write anything down or e-mail me close to the date. She knew the housemeeting was tonight, and she didn't say anything to me abuot until this morning.

WHAT THE FUCK.

Now she's annoyed, and I'm fucking going ballistic. This is uncool.

Anyways, the Final Fantasy concert last night rocked. We missed the first song because we were stuck in traffic and got there late, but the One Winged Angel encore totally made up for it. It was a quick concert, but worth every second of it. ;_; It was so beautiful. *sniffles*

Must go see it again sometime, if I have the time and the money.

In the meantime, I will be bludgeoning myself into unconsciousness because my life just fucking HATES ME today.

w00t! Final Fantasy concert tonight! w000t! Can't wait. They've already sent out the program, and it's going to be beautiful. I'm disappointed there's no Opera House scene from FFVI, or One Winged Angel from FFVII, but I hear they do the latter for the encore?

There better be an encore. X3

Anyways, Malima has two spare tickets, $70 each for tonight. If you want to go, contact me or her.

REVENGE OF THE SITH
is pretty hot shit. Yeah, those volcano scenes. *whistles* X3

Anyways, I really enjoyed it. The love scenes were horrible (my cat could write better love scenes, and I don't even have one!), but the action and battle scenes were pretty darn awesome. It kicked some booty.

So highlights of the evening:

1) Waiting inside the theatre, challenging this kid to a lightsaber duel (he was showing off) and pwning his ass in front of everybody. (I got pwned too, but hey...there was pwnage left and right.)

2) Seeing some of the 501st. ^_^ And dressing up myself. :D

3) Sneaking in two lunchables, two bagels & cream cheese, and several little debbies into the theatre.

4) Drinking a lot of Amaretto before the film, and during the credits when I toasted George Lucas to Maul/Obi-Wan OTP. X3

5) Vader going, "WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!" "NOOOOOOO!"

6) Seeing Wayne Pygram (us Farscape fans know him as Scorpius ^_^) as Tarkin, but not hearing any lines from him (that part kind of sucked).

7) Reciting the 1337 trailer in all the appropriate places

And now, I bring you Darth Skuld, the cutest Sith Lord EVAR! ^____^ Thanks to Destra and Avatrix for my outer Sith cloak...they made it for me as my birthday present. ;_; (Those of you Bleach fans will recognize my facial tattoos as coming from Hisagi Shuuhei. :3 Who is one of my favorite Bleach characters and is awesomely badass.)

And here's White Mage Jedi Destra Mimu. ^_^ She's always been a bit of rebel in the Jedi Order, never quite going along with the current fashion trends.

Whee for nerdiness.

Revenge of the Sith! Tonight! It's 4:30am right now, and I'm tempted to stay up all night, except that I have to be at work at noon, which will make getting up tomorrow morning kind of suck.

After rummaging in my closet and Malima's closet, mixing and matching bits from costumes and stuff I have lying around, I have something Sithly to wear to RotS. X3 It's not black, but meh. :D I'm a Sith, not a goth for crying out loud. XD

Even my the name kind of fits in with Lucas's naming scheme...Darth Skuld. X3 *grins* Cause apparently 'skuld' is Swedish for guilt.

Going with the names we've seen so far with the Sith:

- Sidious (Insidious)
- Sion (which can apparently mean 'noise' or 'tumult')
- Traya (betrayer)
- Nihilus (nihilist)
- Maul
- Bane
- Tyranus
- Revan (Riven? Raven?)
- Vader (Father, Invader)
- Plagueis

Skuld as "Guilt" fits rather nicely don't you think?

Pictures to come, of later tonight, hopefully. I'm off to bed now. =_=;; Need sleep, need to show up to work tomorrow too.

It's over!

I'M DONE!

I feel like I win. ^_^

The test was kind of annoying and tricky, but I think I pulled out of it okay, especially cause I think I really did well on the extra credit/Grad Student only section. X3 It was easier figuring out figures that I had never seen before than trying to decide whether or not my background knowledge of something would help me decide the best answer for a figure I'd already seen. Maybe this is a sign I'm good grad student material.

Oh well. I didn't bomb it, I answered every question, and unless I'm horrendously stupid, I passed. Which means I'm graduating.

I have survived 4 years, and it's finally over. I can move on with my life, get my B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Science from the Massa-fucking-chusetts Institute of Technology on June 3rd, and then I can relax for the summer. I'll really miss this place. I'll miss walking down the Infinite Corridor every morning to class, I'll miss making the trek down Mass Ave. and across the Harvard Bridge. But I'm ready to move on. I'm ready to start a new chapter of my life, go someplace new, meet new people and do new and fun things. I might comeback someday, because as all the crusty alums around here know, you never really truly leave the Institute once you've graduated. :D I'll have my brass rat to remind me everyday of the awesome times I had and the cool friends I made. ^_^

...in the meantime, I'm trying to choose between reading fanfiction, drinking that bottle of oatmeal stout I've had saved up for a week, or going to sleep. I think I'll start with the sleep and work myself up from there. ^_^

OW MY MIND

| | Comments (7)

E3 is soon bitches. E3 starts on Wednesday, dear fucking god I wish I had the insider awesomeness to get into E3. =_=;; Then I'd cream my panties and think I was in heaven. (Hey, guess what I've been doing instead of looking over my notes?)

Major pre-E3 updates so far:

- annoucement of The PS3 and its hardware specs. That is one beautiful machine, my friends.

- annoucement of the Xbox 360 (yeah, that was almost a week ago, I'm slow when I'm studying for finals, okay?)

- announcement of a whole slew of games (DMC4, DoA4, Shadow of the Colossus)

and I always save the best for last, the Final Fantasy VII Technical Demo for the PS3. Download it here. I wish I had it in better quality, but this will do for the moment. Take a look at it, and realize that this is all supposed to rendered in-game. No pre-rendering involved in this baby.

OH MY GOD.

The games fangirl inside me is going to DIE during E3. I am keeping one eye firmly pegged. New Advent Children trailer (can somebody get me a high quality copy?), new Kingdom Hearts II trailer, hopefully...

This is a good time to be a gamer. X3

*falls over*

| | Comments (7)

I just have to review my notes tonight, review them again tomorrow morning, go to my final, bend it over and show it who its daddy is.

I am so close to being done with my undergraduate life. In less than 24 hours I will be staggering around drunkenly to celebrate my done-ness. And my life will RULE for the next 3 weeks.

So goddamn close. *shakes fist*

ZOMG. I just got back from watching Kingdom of Heaven. (Should've been studying, but I went to the movie anyway. ^_^v) O_o;;

It was interesting. I think it does deserve the bad rap that the critics gave it because for a war/action movie, it's energy level the entire time was on the level of "meh." Dead serious. There was no climax. The battle scenes didn't move me, I was just "meh" the entire time, except for the parts where Edward Norton showed up in his pretty mask. Then I was all a barrage of hearts in his general direction. Okay, so leprosy...not so pretty. But that mask was just beautiful. *____* Glee for Edward Norton, one of my favorite actors of all time. ;_;

I was all frustrated throughout the movie, because I couldn't figure out who Guy de Lusignan was (I recognized his voice, but I couldn't place his face) and I couldn't figure out whether Nasir was Alexander Siddig (Dr. Bashir, as most people know him) or James Callis (Dr. Baltar, from the new Battlestar Galactica), because I've been tricked once! I won't be tricked again! Halfway through I decided it was Alexander Siddig, but wasn't 100% sure. =_=;; (Damn those two guys for looking and sounding so alike. :/)

Finally I got back home and placed who Guy de Lusignan was. Celeborn. Shit dude, he was Celeborn. =_=;; I knew I could recognize that nasally voice anywhere...and I did...but I couldn't recognize who. *beats head against wall*

I think Kingdom of Heaven was an interesting movie, in that it's unusual for a war movie to not have a positive message. And I kind of like that, as it's drawing some very strong parallels to what's still happening down there today with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Everybody seems to have forgotten it in the light of the Iraq situation, but recently it's been getting a little bit more publicity, especially here at school. I'm waiting for some conservative Christian groups ot be starting whining and bitching and waving some Bibles around because they're banning the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if it's happened already.

The movie's kind of thin on its history, but you can't ever expect movies these days to be historically accurate. Given that they gave both sides of the conflict equal treatment, and that Edward Norton's mask was pretty, I'll cut them a little bit of slack.

The siege scenes of Jerusalem felt oddly familiar. From some of the shots they used of trebuchets, siege towers, and charging horses, (and the continued presence of Orlando Bloom) I got an intense feeling I might've been watching The Return of the King all over again. ¬_¬ Except Return of the King was more exciting and was filled with hobbits being gay.

And oh yeah...somebody PLEASE teach Orlando Bloom how to act. He can do clueless blond elf-boy, he can sort of pull off dorky blacksmith-turned-pirate, but kickass crusader he cannot do. And if anybody out there actually thinks he can act, you must be blind, deaf, and stupid all at once. Mr. Bloom's problem is that he would do great in roles that one would give Johnny Depp, but the problem is that he's only one-fourth the actor Johnny Depp is, and Johnny Depp is still alive and kicking.

Oh well. I'll sit around and be content that I saw Edward Norton's pretty mask. ~<3 *squee* :D So pretty! (Hey guys, guess what one of Skuld's fetishes is!)

EDIT: I was looking around for Kingdom of Heaven LJ communities, and one of the first things I found was King Baldwin slash. (Baldwin/Balian.) I believe the exact term the writer used was "leppy!porn" which should be said much cheerier than you'd think it to be. I think I may have just jumped on the "Baldwin Porn Bus." I hope they have booze.

Work

| | Comments (7)

Classes are officially over!! I finished up my experiments in lab on Friday, and for the next three days I'm going to be studying frantically for my one final exam. =_=;; I'm tempted to just blow it off and pass the class with C because I don't actually give a damn, but something inside tells me I should study and kick some Neurobiology ass and go out with a bang. ^_^

I think I'm going to settle for a midpoint between the two. ^_~

If you don't see me online or replying to comments in the next 3 or 4 days or so, it's because I'm trying to graduate. :3

Last day of school

| | Comments (7)

Today is officially the last day of school, and I am happy because last night I got 10 hours of sleep. (I was only intending it to be about 7, but I have a hard time getting up at single-digit hours in the morning.) Of course, this means I'm totally fucked tonight when it comes to writing my 8-page paper for my Chinese Cultural Politics class...but meh. :D My presentation rocked, so I don't think Prof. Wang will be too hard on me.

The reason I checked out so early last night was because Destra pulled an all-nighter the previous night, pumped herself up with caffeine, and then came home in the afternoon and had a shot of tequila. As everybody knows, depressant + stimulant = BADNESS. :/ She was having heart palpitations for over an hour so I had to call 911 and get the ambulance to take her to Beth Israel. After that, I realized there was no way I could concentrate enough to do my paper, so I went to bed intending to get up early in the morning, but ended up sleeping extra because I was having Gungrave dreams and didn't want to give those up. X3 (Brandon/Bunji squee!)

Destra came back at about 3am, after they hooked her up to some monitoring machines, and I think she just needed to calm down and not be so worried. I get heart palpitations all the time when I'm drunk, but she hasn't, so she was worried. I'm glad she's all right.

Anyways, since Gungrave is still on my mind (I think it's one of the few things awesome enough to completely shove out my Star Wars fangirliness XD), I forgot to post Destra's best quote ever when I beat the game:

Skuld: Wouldn't it be cool to live in a mack truck?
Destra: No. It'd probably be all taken up by bottles of blood. Where would you sleep?
Skuld: On top of Grave.
Destra: ... ... ... Living in a mack track is the coolest thing ever.

Or something along those lines. X3

Ending GET!

| | Comments (10)

Just beat Gungrave Overdose. Man, whoever they got to direct and write the anime they should've hired for the game. :/ I bet it would've been better, but then again, hey, the Gungrave game is all about the gameplay and not the story, so I've got nothing to whine about.

Juji = hot shit, even though I find it incredibly difficult to play as him due to his complete and total melee style. ¬_¬ Meh, I think I'll get used to it, or at the very least I really hope I do. *sweatdrops* Cause I do need to beat it on normal mode in order for me to beat it on Kick Ass mode to unlock everything. ;____; ~<3 My darling Bunji! You love Brandon! And I love you two so I will persevere! *strikes pose*

Anyhoos...last week of classes. One presentation to get through tomorrow, one paper to write by Friday, and one final on Tuesday. Then I'm FREE. Free from the mortal coil enslavement of getting a Bachelor's degree. I will have it! MWA HA HA HA HA~!

...and then I get to indenture myself to UCLA as I try to get my Ph.D.

*falls over*

Brandon/Bunji squee

| | Comments (8)

This random fangirl squee goes out to Brandon Heat and Kugashira Bunji. o_o ZOMG. ;____; I just beat Bunji in Gungrave OD...and the things he says as he dies (again)... O_O

"I'll be waiting for you in hell."
and "I was so happy then."

... I need to watch Gungrave again and write slashy Brandon/Bunji stories. :D

No more doujinshi

| | Comments (9)

So it seems that I've created a doujinshi fiend in Asphodel by giving her her first doujin at the beginning of the academic year last term (it was a Snape/Harry). She just bought all my doujinshi that I had on sale. Hey, not bad. Maybe she'll come and visit Japan during Comiket so we can frolick in doujinshi heaven together. X3

And now I turn from Benevolent Sith Apprentice Skuld into Dark Side Ranty McRantington, because at 4am I can never seem to keep my mouth shut. (read at your own risk.)

I'm very amused that this morning I happened to be the center of some drama in the /cm and /y boards at 4chan. I blame everything up on Destra, my evil roommate whom I now hate from the very bottoms of my cold, black heart, who started the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan thread in /y a week and a half ago, and thus is indirectly responsible for its revival, which interestingly enough was a reposting of most of the images she posted earlier.

So I go to /cm to counter it with Rocketbilly/Juji from Gungrave, and lo and behold, somebody follows me to /cm and bitches at me for bitching about something else. *coughs* Does anybody see anything inherently silly in this? I wasn't even bitching in the first place. I happened to counter with something completely unrelated, posted some yummy pictures, and suddenly the rabid fangirls who haven't had enough drama show up on my doorstep in storm, all seeming to be misinformed on why there might possibly have been a dispute in the first place.

1) Do not stick your nose where it doesn't belong, and especially if you have no idea what was little inside war was going between Destra and me a couple of weeks ago
2) Stop using the phrase "Bitch, please."

What is up with "Bitch, please?" It's now become the catch phrase of bitchy fangirls everywhere, as if calling another fangirl a 'bitch' and saying 'please' would completely articulate the depth of their pre-menstrual pain and thus their hatred of the female form. I've heard it enough it's now starting to sound like, "weapons of mass destruction." *sighs*

I hate fangirls. I'm beginning to think I'd rather be stuck in a room full of smelly fanboys challenging me to Halo and Guilty Gear #Reload than stuck in a room full of non-menstruating fangirls calling upon the full agony their child-bearing bodies is made to bear once a month. *rolls eyes* Get a fucking boyfriend and go bitch at him, not at me. Jesus fucking christ. Don't you guys have anything better to do other than stick your noses into other peoples' /b-like playfights on 4chan?

I think I'm going to camp out in /b for a while. >( *annoyed and pissed*

X3 I've noticed recently that I switch off between girl/guy moods. :/ I think I'm going to go for guys for while, because I am fucking sick of dealing with women and their volatile moods. Guys are 0% bitch and about 25% asshole, 25% dork, the rest of the 50% is whatever baggage usually comes along with dating a guy, but given the fact that most women come in the 75% bitch variety (which is actually directly proportional to the amount of insecurity they feel), I think in my next relationship or fling I'm going to be dealing with men for a while.

I'm now really beginning to wonder if being celibate is the way to go after all. :/

[end rant]

Time to go camp out at Dex's Diner, listen to Tally Hall, and do some homework. >_>
Do you want a banana?
Peel it down and go mm mm mm mm mmm....
Do you want a banana?
This banana for you.

Been playing Gungrave Overdose. *drools all over self* The game is so pretty. It's a melee fighter like Dynasty Warriors, except slightly more sci-fi, and you're mostly using guns instead of swords. Oh yeah, and no references to ancient Chinese history either. :P

I have decided that if I ever have kids, I'm going to name one of them Rocketbilly Redcadillac. Cause seriously, if you were a gun-toting, crimson-clothed, badass rockstar ghost kicking mafia ass seven ways into next week, wouldn't you want a name like Rocketbilly Redcadillac?

He's pretty overpowered, and it seems he's very suited to Destra's style of playing (long range, not melee). :/ That's not me at all. I'm having a hard enough time with Grave (the well-balanced one) as it is. *wants to switch but can't* Oh well, only four more stages to pass, and then I'm going to give it a go with Juji, who I hear if you unlock the "Secret Character option" turns into Kugashira Bunji.

@#$*!!! Why didn't somebody tell me this earlier so I could've played it at the beginning of term, and NOT at the end? O_O

MOVING SALE!

| | Comments (8)

Skuld's having a MOVING SALE!

That's right, she's moving out soon, and she desperately needs money for Japan and moving her ass out to Los Angeles! So if you're interested in acquiring some doujinshi, manga, artbooks, or anime, please check out the sale!

Phanboy of the Opera

| | Comments (8)

Just got back from seeing Phantom of the Opera. One of the companies on tour has stopped in Boston for about three months, so Yang, Destra, and I snagged tickets. :3 We got another one too, but Mel backed out on that. Luckily Destra was able to sell it on the street, so we were all good moneywise. :3

Anyhoos...

Phantom was awesome. I haven't seen the show since 7th grade, so it was nice to see it again. One of the things that bugged me was the amount of vibrato that EVERYBODY had going for them, which I found annoying. It's a musical, not actually an opera, folks, so don't sound like you're singing while standing on the magic fingers. :/ I think that's my only gripe.

Destra and I were making funny comments to each other the entire time through the show. Stuff like, "I'd hit it" the first time Christine takes off Erik's mask (I really would hit it!). X3 For intermission, because Destra hadn't had any food at all for dinner, we sneaked in a package of tuna and crackers. :3 Which prompted my really loud, "Empited it out?! Why?/ To make room for the TUNA!" right at the silence before intermission. Oh, it was classic.

The chandelier kind of disappointed me, but then again it always does, because it falls at one-tenth the acceleration gravity would actually pull it down for. Well the chandelier always disappoints me (they can't always drop it). ._. One of the creepy bits was the statue of Apollo that the Phantom perches on at the end of the Act One was lit up inside, with just a curve for its mouth and two pinpoint eyes. So it looked like some creepy, demented jack-o-lantern :) That freaked me out. O__O *shivers*

The Phantom by far had the funniest moments, probably made funnier by the fact that me and Destra were constant throwing /b jokes, and other inside jokes back and forth. :3 She did the "Aww snap" when Christine gave him back the ring, and I responded with, "I've just always thought of us as friends," which broke us into rounds of giggling. Another great moment was that when Christine leaves with Raoul, the Phantom picks up her bridal veil and SNIFFS IT LOUDLY. I'm not kidding. He sniffed it. LOUDLY. Destra and I were breaking up into peals of laughter there cause yeah...I guess if you don't have panties to sniff a bridal veil's the next best thing.

The sniffing totally made my night. X3 *grins*

Another great Phantom-tidbit was how he literally melted when Christine kissed him. His arms and legs went all jelly and he was kind of listing over the side. I swear I saw '*melt*' pop up in my vision during that. X3 Destra leaned over to me and said, "He's such a fanboy," which is now running around my mind trying to get me to make a clever parody entited "The Phanboy of the Opera." XD

And now I am pleasantly drunk (whee!) and I'm going to go downstairs, get my laundry, be relieved that I finished my video game project, and I'm going to be going to the Time Travelers Convention tomorrow. Hot shit, baby.

Stop staring at me

...I'm sitting here at the circulation desk in the Aero/Astro library, and this guy is staring at me. No kidding. =_= So here's the story:

I've been one of the student desk workers for about three years now. Ever since I started there's been this obviously autistic, completely socially dysfunctional Korean grad student who hangs around in the library ALL DAY LONG. (Doesn't he have anything better to do? Like, go to lab or something?)

Anyways, sometime last fall he came up to the desk, checked out a book, and in extremely broken English (not broken because he can't speak it, it's broken because he obviously can't speak to his fellow human beings period, without pausing and hesitating between every word) asked for my e-mail address. Not entirely sure what to do (I was entirely too shocked to think to give him a fake e-mail address) I gave him my e-mail address. A day later, this e-mail shows up in my mailbox, and this guy is asking to be my friend.

There's something wrong with this on several levels. First, I have no clue who this guy is other than he's a grad student in the library, his name looks Korean, he's got some medium level of autism going on, and he can't string more than five words together without pausing. This guy knows absolutely nothing about me. Nothing at all, unless he's web-stalking me, which is highly possible. (Even if he is webstalking me, he should know that I have a girlfriend, and am into SLASH, which is an instant sign for him to run away and never talk to me again.)

A couple of weeks ago he shot me another e-mail (he had to ask first, again in no greater coherency than a year ago) asking if I had time to hang out with him. Ew ew ew ew ew. I replied and basically said, "No, I have finals. I'm busy." in more words and a little more politely. He replied saying if I needed any help with finals, I should call him. I was unsure of whether to laugh or to bang head against something.

A week ago he shot me another e-mail and told me he wanted to have lunch with me after finals, have a talk with me, and get to be my friend before I graduate. As a friendly person with lots of friends and acquaintances I would normally say 'yes' except for the fact that I find it hard to be friends with somebody I don't have anything in common with, and people who can't even speak. This guy is the Korean version of Steve Urkel, only much less annoying because he can't utter any words or look anybody in the face when he's speaking to them. YUCK.

So now he's in the library, sitting at one computers facing the desk, and he is STARING AT ME. STARING AT ME. He's looking at me and occasionally looks away to make it look like he's not staring, but I know he is, and I can't look back at him because he might take that as the wrong sign.

Somebody get this guy off my back, I am creeped and grossed out. :/

It lives!

It's alive. Dear god, I kid you not. In some small corner of the vast wasteland known as The Intarweb, I have finally found it. Tiny little link from Sith Academy, found at 2am when I was not in my right mind (I was instead, nodding off) and you have no idea what sort of victory dance I did. (If it makes you feel better, I don't have an idea and I'm not sure I want to.)

Dex's Diner

The title image should say it all. (Well, it doesn't say everything, but it should disturb you as much it disturbed me at 2am.) This makes up for the total, complete, and most humiliating mocking I got from the MBTA earlier yesterday. My karma had been saving up for that one monumental event.

My life loves me. ~~~<3

...and oh yeah, there's a Time Traveler Convention at MIT this weekend. I think I might show up, it'll be fun hanging out with fellow nerds. Only at MIT does something like this happen. X3 Spread the word, friends!

to the NYC crew

Is there anybody in the NYC area who is going to the Final Fantasy Concert on May 20th? If so, is there room for me to get a ride there from NYC and/or back to NYC?
