Spent all day today doing

| | Comments (2)

Spent all day today doing absolutely nothing. Wrote a little bit, had some dinner, slept a whole shitload, hankered for BSG (damn port blocking!), but yeah, that's about it. Bumming around the internet really doesn't count, but man, I just keep doing social things! It's all e-mail and LJ sorts of things. I guess my internet life is kind of like a substitute for real social interaction, cause hey! It's the best I can get while I'm in Japan, and at least I'm interacting with real people and not wanking off to pr0n.

Anyways, meme from my lovely pseudo little sister, Crystal.

List 10 things in a day that give you a moment of joy, and tag five of your friends...

1. Winning a game of Sangokushi Taisen (big moments of joy)
2. Grooving to good music
3. Eating yummy Japanese food
4. One Piece
5. Cuddling the Sanji UFO plush I won
6. Dancing around in the morning in my Darth Maul boxers on the way to the shower
7. Talking about t3h gay
8. Karaoke or singing in the shower
9. Sunny and warm weather
10. Reading a good book, or a good fic

Five

| | Comments (4)

My parents are coming to visit me in Osaka from August 3rd to the 7th. I actually feel vaguely bad that I might be gone for about two days of that because of the onsen trip my co-workers are scheduling. Well, I'm going to be spending over a week with them in Tokyo, and about a week at home with them in SLC, so I hope they aren't too pissed. :/ Especially Mom, who is constantly ragging on me to spend more time with her and be a more filial daughter. She doesn't realize that the reason I don't want to spend time with her is because she never wanted to spend time with me as kid. *rolls eyes*

Anyways, before I get started on how dysfunctional my relationship with my mother is, have a meme.

TOP FIVE LISTS. Yoinked this from several people.

Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things. Copy and give your own top fives.

You can ask my 'favorites' too. Ask me crazy things people, cause if you ask what my five favorite anime or manga series are, you obviously never listen to anything I say or do, and I'll be forced to beat you. X3

Hauled ass off to Himeji today, taking advantage of the fact that Typhoon #7 has missed Kansai completely. Huzzah! Didn't get my pictures, much to my sadness, because the crappy NiMH batteries I bought in China won't charge. I think the charger is fucking up on me. Note to self: never buy electronics in China.

Himeji is known for its castle Himeji-jou which is the most well-preserved castle in Japan from the Edo period. Probably because nobody's ever attacked it. Attached to the side of the castle grounds is Koukoen, a garden they constructed in 1992 which brings back to life the garden-y feel of the Edo period. Not bad, I'm glad I travelled alone because enjoying the gardens by myself was very nice. Fortunately not many people were there, so I was able to enjoy the entire thing virtually all by myself. It was very quiet and scenic, and had it not been for the heat I think I would have stayed longer.

I urge everybody in the Kansai area to take a trip out to Himeji sometime, it's really worth hauling ass out there. The tourist information center even rents out free bicycles for the day, so I spent a good hour or so riding it around the outer grounds of the castle, relishing the feel of not having to walk to sightsee for once. I think bikes are one of my favoritest things in the world. ^_^ I am always happy to be riding a bike...enough though the scar from my last accident all the way back in September is still there. ¬_¬ Might be the fact the gravel gouged out about a centimenter of skin... that'll do it.

Spent 1200 yen playing four games of Sangokushi Taisen at the SEGA Club at Himeji today. Figured it would be a nice end to a good day. Well, my record's even lower than it was before (2-16, whoopie), every single online person I played today had a superrare that kicked my ass, even those of the same rank as me. Hell, even the computer today was pulling out superrares. That's just low, computer. *shakes head* The up side to my ass getting beaten into the ground is that some ancestor from Shu took pity on me and said, "Hey Skuld, you can have a rare card." Whoopee, too bad it's a Shu rare, I don't play them. I believe this is a sign that I really should. >_> Maybe time to head down to Mandarake this weekend and buy that Guan Yu rare I've been longing for!

Good thing Asphodel is the patron saint of Skuld's addiction to Sangokushi Taisen. ^_^ She gets her Mirage of Blaze novels and manga, and I get my crack. Good trade. Time to take a serious look at my deck, I think. Might toss out Cao Cao in favor of Dian Wei, might start playing with a Shu deck, or might just up and go kick the machine one day, screaming curses all the way as security drags me out the door.

And speaking of videogames, you all get a good laugh today, because apparently those Capcom whores turned this into this. Good thing I'm in Japan and I own a Japanese PS2.

I want to beat my head into a wall until it's bloody goo. Or maybe I just want to burn all my cards and forever declare my hatred of CCGs. AAARRRRGGGHHHHHH. Today I was reminded of exactly why I quit collectible card games like Magic: the Gathering, and I wonder why I didn't remember this when I started playing Sangokushi Taisen. Curse me, and my shitty memory. MY LIFE HATES ME.

Or at least my ancestors do. If they haven't disowned me for my rabid slashy habits, they sure as hell have disowned me for my abysmal Sangokushi online record. I think I'm somewhere around 2-12 or 2-13. Yes, it's pitiful, I know. *weep* My record against the computer is completely respectable, but that's only until you realize the computer has the intelligence of a drooling monkey. A very very small monkey. Christ, I've seen seven year olds able to kick my ass (some of them probably have already), and that's just fucking shameful.

If I were my ancestors, I'd disown me too. Hell, I'm about to disown myself right now. (Though I don't know where that would land me. ¬_¬ What happens if you disown yourself?) I'm pretty sure Guan Yu has disowned me for lusting after him at random times, and if Guan Yu has decided to boot me from the hallowed halls of Cool Chinese People, so has Zhang Fei and Liu Bei. I'm sure everybody from Wu hates me because I'm not playing them at all, and Cao Cao and his massive family has booted me into the gutter because I play Wei with the finesse of a bag of bricks. (Obviously, I need a larger bag of bricks.)

My ancestors back 100 generations have disowned me. ¬_¬ Any more shittiness from my end and I may just start getting excommunicated from the human race, like Richard Simmons and Rod Stewart. BOY WOULD THAT SUCK.

Pretty much everybody I've played online today (except for the ONE person whose ass I handed to them) has a deck full of rare or superare cards. Decks usually range from 4-6 cards, though I have occasionally seen decks of 7 cards. I played somebody's 4-card deck of two rares and two superares. I also played somebody with three rares, one super rare, and one uncommon. GASP. There was this ten year old kid playing a deck with two superrares, three rares, and one uncommon. I SHIT YOU NOT.

Oh yes, I remember now. This is why I quit Magic: the Gathering. Because the goodness of you and your deck is directly proportional to the amount of money you have. I remember playing Magic against some kids who've probably spent over $1000 of their parents' money on their cards. And boy were they pwning everybody left, right, and center. Eventually I gave up and quit Magic sometime early senior year of high school, because I realized that I only had enough funds to support one crack habit--anime. Note that this was before the advent of Torrent, so I was still buying fansubs on VHS. Ha, if only torrent had been around earlier.

I've got a lot more respect for Magic: the Gathering players these days who don't play in pre-constructed deck tournaments. Starter pack + 3 booster packs is definitely the way to go. Makes sure us unfortunate, poor kids at the bottom of the income ladder get a decent shot for our brains. Sangokushi is becoming what Magic was to me: expensive and rather embarassing, but I can't stop playing because I think I'm addicted to the adrenaline rush of "I'm in ur base, killing ur d00ds" and "crapxx0rs!! We got pwned!" (I've been seeing way more of the latter lately than the former.) I might as well just hang around on dark street corners looking for drugs, cause that might be cheaper way less frustrating.

*sigh* Maybe if I'm a really good girl the Almighty Fathers of Asian Whoopass will grant me some good rares. 0:) I'm currently looking to build a decent Shu deck, cause they have more high-powered commons and uncommon cards than the other kingdoms, though some more Wei rares can't hurt. (Too bad the Shu rares have better powers in general. Makes up for their complete lack of cavalry, I suppose.)

Time to buy Dynasty Warriors 5 or chill around at home with the tenth installment of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Maybe then I can redeem myself and erase the shame of my name. m(._.)m Oh wait, I lack my PS2, 'til I go back to the States. There goes that idea.

Anyways, I was going to go to Himeji today, but I ended going to bed last night at 5am because I writing and reading fanfiction. I also had a rather long nap in the afternoon which left me rather groggy for most of the early evening, which definitely resulted in me not sleeping until 5am. *sigh* Himeji tomorrow, I suppose. No more Sangokushi for the rest of the week. I'm feeling a little tight on funds, especially after I bought two Legolas/Gimli doujinshi at Mandarake today. I couldn't help myself, when I was bending over double to keep from laughing out loud at "Load of the Rings." If you saw that, you'd buy it too. (It was only 420yen, I think what really put me behind was the 1000yen I spent on kaiten zushi.)

I've noticed recently that the cicadas are starting to die, as I've seen some insecty corpses littering the parking lots 'round here. That means that it's the season for Skuld to become a walking target for those kamikaze cicadas who are hellbent on taking me out with them. I wish those Buddhist and Shinto temples would sell protective charms against those things. I need those more than protective charms for exams. ( ¬_¬)p What'd I really like is a nice Cicada Shield surrounding me at all times I'm outside in a vaguely tree-ish area, so any bug that comes within a two foot radius of me is instantly smote.

Yeah, like those Sangokushi rares, I'll keep on wishing. One of you guys should start a betting pool on what my next rare card will be. I'm putting my money on that Xiahou Dun card I just bought last week, cause it's just like me to get a rare card I already have. If it's a third Ma Su card, don't be surprised if you read about me in the papers after they spent all night scraping my remains off the train tracks.

EDIT: ARGH! They pushed back the date for the "Fighting for One Piece" game. It was supposed to come out late July, and now they've pushed it back to September 8th, so I can't get my hands on it except through the interweb. This is definite proof my life hates me. T___T *weep* I'll have to content myself with Grand Battle 3 until then, I suppose.

DISPWNED

I think my luck at Sangokushi Taisen is so shitty because my ancestors have disowned me. I'm willing to bet this is because of the Zhao Yun yaoi doujinshi I bought last year (I think the story was him being captured and raped by hot guys from Wu, but I can't be sure because I spent most of the doujin drooling over his naked body) and because I occasionally randomly lust for Guan Yu, who is incredible amounts of BADASS. No wonder he's semi-deified by the Chinese people, and is probably the most recognizable figure out of Ancient Chinese history. If any of my badass ancestors disowned me for my nasty slashy habits (I'm amazed I've been able to keep it away from Shui Hu and Jin Yong so far), I think I'd drop to my knees and cry on the spot. It also isn't helping things that I want the Zhuge Liang rare and super rare cards because he is the epitome of hotness as depicted by the Japanese. >______> *much of the sweatdropping*

Though actually I think my shitty luck is currently based on my shitty skillz and crappy "if brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough" meat tank sort of strategy which has the subtlety of a brick in the forehead. (But ha! I have ambush units too, so maybe if you're looking the wrong way, you'll fall for the old brick in the back of the head trick. :x) I'm vaguely annoyed because the size of a Sangokushi Taisen deck is so small (I think the average deck is only either 4 or 5 cards) thus eliminating any sort of large and over-reaching strategy such as I would employ at Magic: The Gathering (the favorite of which being an all blue deck or a blue-green deck). It's rather difficult to say you've got some sort of "interrupt" or tank-mage strategy when all you've got is FIVE CARDS.

T_T And it's sad that I've come up with what I think is an awesome and killer deck of 6 cards, but unfortunately it's just 1 over the allowed cost of cards you've got, which is making me bang my head on the wall multiple times. It also doesn't help that everybody seems to have a deck comprised completely of rares and superrares. The good thing is the sign that I am still getting promoted despite losing nearly every battle I've been in (my 1-9 record is rather pathetic) means I'm getting beaten by people above my rank, so I can use the excuse of "well, they've been playing longer" so I don't have to feel inferior about my own shittiness. XD

It's still great fun, and I don't feel too bad about losing now because I'm mostly able to hold my own and not totally get slaughtered within 30 seconds. Most of the time I can't really break through into the enemy camp and do enough damage to their city before time runs out, but I think that's because my strategy of "I don't need to retreat," is failing me thus far. >_> 'cept that one time I did rule all ass and pwn left, right, and center. *cough*

I swear to god I'm the only gaijin playing this game. It wouldn't surprise me. T_T There might be Koreans and Chinese living in Japan playing this game, but they're actually Raised in Asia Asian, so they don't count as gaijin against Clueless American Borns like me. >____> I wish I could get some GAIJIN SMASH points here, but it mostly seems to be backfiring. Geez, I hope more 1337 guys take pity on my wild gaijin-ness and give me their rares. <____< Strategy: bring obviously English book to read in line, and act very shy.

Okay, enough rants about Sangokushi Taisen which nobody actually cares about except for me. .-. *hangs head* Back to work. Heading to Tenjin Matsuri today in my yukata, might take pictures if camera batteries aren't stupid and dead, which is most likely. (Note to self: never buy ANY electronics from China. :/)

The second episode of the second season of Battlestar Galactica was pretty good, though they were kind of heavy-handed with the whole, "this series is about the worst and best of human nature" with the exchange between Baltar and Number Six on Kobol. If it starts getting more obvious, I think I'm going to have to smack Ron Moore a bit. The death of both Tarn and Socinus for absolutely NOTHING was wonderfully nihilistic. Oh, I really love this show. XD Needs more Boomer, now. And the fact that the opening scenes have actually been subtracting the number of deaths (it was 48, 875 in episode one, and then Tarn died so it dropped to 48, 874) gets mad props from me.

My brain is melting

| | Comments (2)

"My brain is melting" just about sums up how I'm feeling at the moment. Which is hilarious, because I haven't even started work yet. It's been the interweb, chatting with friends, and the catching up of the friends list. Might be the heat and the dehydration too, it's been high 90's around here, I fucking swear to god.

First, I hope that all my Kantou peeps are doing well. Heard there was an earthquake, just wanted to make sure everybody's okay. I'm pretty sure everybody's okay, but just figured a little hug from thus-quake-free (I think I just jinxed myself...shit.) Kansai wouldn't hurt. X3

Anyways, a couple of you guys have probably noticed my absence these past couple of days, and that's because I've been running around Japan with friends since Tuesday.

So Carly/PrismGecko came to visit me on Tuesday, and we spent most of that day hanging around the Osaka area, looking up the fun karaoke places, playing the Sangokushi Taisen (okay, that was mostly me), and she dumped a large sum of money down a UFO catcher machine trying to get a lightsaber, and failing pretty hard. I think that's the only thing she's never gotten that she wanted. X3

Tuesday night and Wednesday were spent with Mel at Amanohashidate, one of the Nihon Sankei/Three Sights in Japan. It was beautiful, and definitely worth the money and the time, even the awesome free hotel. (Thanks to Mel and her jankenpon-fu [rock paper scissors] which won us the free stay.) We lounged at a sento (public bath) for a bit on Tuesday night, and spent all morning and early afternoon at the beach on Wednesday. That sand bar has a really really sweet beach there, and I managed to get myself a rather nice-looking tan. Yay! I'm not pasty white!

I don't quite remember exactly what happened on Thursday, but I think Thursday was spent around the Osaka area (since poor Carly was tired of traveling) buying shit, playing Sangokushi, watching Star Wars (I can't believe I've seen RotS three times now), and other general things that can be done in Osaka during the day. We stumbled upon a rather nice restaurant called "Cafe Christon," which had this interesting posh european feel (very difficult to find) with very cheap non-posh european prices. Excellent. They have some Belgian Framboise there too, so I just go back and imbibe. X3

Friday was spent at home because I had a presentation to give, and Carly had FFXI to update and play and Japanese homework to do. Take a wild guess which one sucked up the majority of her time. X3 We spent the night at Friendly's, basically the Japanese equivalent of a Denny's, talking and eating imitation Western food. :D 'twas great fun.

Saturday was spent in Kyoto, going to Kiyomizu-dera, Ginkakuji (which was way overcrowded and full of construction) and Kinkakuji (which was amazingly quiet because we got there 10 mins. before closing), and furthering the nice tan I'd got a couple of days ago. After we finished temple-hopping we went to downtown Kyoto and chilled for a bit in the Namco Wonder Tower (or something like that) to try our luck at UFO catchers and play some Sangokushi Taisen. You can tell which video game I'm addicted too. =_=;;

Carly was amazing and won a huge stuffed PacMan and a Darth Vader bath towel, thus producing the strange comment from yesterday's post, wherein I was trying to convince her to spend money and get the towel by enticing her with the prospect that Vader would be fun to wipe all over her naked, wet body. She definitely bought the argument, and now she has a Vader towel. Don't you wish you had a Vader towel? X3 (I actually I had a Maul towel...but I sprung for the mug instead as my Christmas present. Well, there's always next Christmas... X3)

We had fun adventures finding our way to A Bar, since we didn't know that one of the side doors of the Namco place was just a block away, we took the long way round. The REALLY long way round, but finally made it thanks to my guidebook and my memory of Destra's awesome A Bar map. Had some Yebisu there because it seemed to be required of us (in order not to be losers and not to get kicked out, or so the sign said), and had a Gin and Tonic for the first time. I must say, I don't particularly like gin by itself, but it is amazing with tonic water. I have no idea what the property of tonic water is that suddenly makes gin taste good, but I am keeping that in mind the next time I get some gin. Hot damn. Found a purikura (photosticker) of Dave Murray and his then-girlfriend while I was there, and left a purikura of my own. ^_^ If any of you trek to A Bar soon, be sure to look for me and Carly in the corner just to the right of the door. ^_^

I think when it got to this morning me and Carly were beginning to rub each other the wrong way, as oft happens when you spent several consecutive days with another person. I was kind of relieved to see her off, mostly because I was seriously looking forward to some quality alone-time. ^_^ No offense to Carly, who is an absolutely wonderful person, a great person to have religious and political talks with, and a well-spring of information and obsession about FFXI, Star Wars, and Shadow Hearts. X3 I hope we can hang out more at a geeky con, where I feel more at home with my little nerdy heart of hearts. X3 *fwee*

Anyways, in order to stop whining about how I was just ONE RANK away from participating in the huge Sangokushi tournament thingy this weekend, I'm going to start working while I wait for Battlestar Galactica to finish downloading. I'm nightshifting myself again, goddammit. =_=;; Blar. I've finally got around to buying myself the Xiahou Dun rare card I've been eyeing at Mandarake (I didn't know how to say his name in Japanese, so I just pointed the guy to "that card over there" and he got it for me. I got some pretty weird looks for that, let me tell you. It's MY HISTORY, dude. :/ Don't give me weird looks cause I don't know how to say it in YOUR language. *grumble*), and I've got a semi-new deck constructed. I'm dying to test it out. O_o;; I'm also dying to see my father's reaction when he sees my cards, explains everything significant about the characters to the last detail, and is horrified by the fact that Cao Cao and Xiahou Dun look like they jumped right out of an Ancient Chinese world crossed over with Bleach and One Piece. (This is probably one reason why I am liking Wei over the completely arrow-laden Wu and the spear-heavy Shu.)

...crap, didn't I say I was going to start work a while ago? Yes, I did say that. Will stop obsessing over Sangokushi now. T_T Right the fuck now. ... ... NOT WANTING THE WU RARES, NO AT ALL. (AUGH.) I am also really sorely tempted to go Mandarake and buy up the Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Liu Bei, and Zhuge Liang rares and super rares. T_____T If I had a million dollars... >_>

As a side comment, it's really funny to see how Sangoku Musou/Dynasty Warriors influenced the designs for the characters are. O_o;; Granted, everybody basically pictures people like Guan Yu and Zhang Fei the same way, but when Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao are still carrying fans, and Zhuge Liang is still wearing the same green hat and carrying the same white fan, you really start realizing is familiarity is rather nice. (I'm going to ignore the other Sangoku games I haven't played yet, but really should. *cough*)

Okay, working now, really.

Great Skuld Quote of the Day Taken Out Of Context:

"Dude, you could wipe Vader all over your naked, wet body."

More adventures starring me and PrismGecko to follow sometime tomorrow. WINS.

(And a shoutout to Dave Murray, whose purikura I found at A Bar today. I left of a purikura of my own there, so you guys will have to find it! :D)

Just got back from hanging out with Ari and Rhole. It was great. :D We started the evening off with an hour and a half of karaoke (poor Ari was dying from sickness, so she was all hoarse) and then about two hours of random talk at the local namba Gyoza no Oushou. Pulling together a group of X/Final Fantasy/Weiss Kreuz fangirls was a bad idea because we sat around talking and talking and talking until Ari realized she was late to meet up with her friends, and we kind of rushed out in a panic. Good thing that everything is well, and she is on her way back to Tokyo and to work in the morning. *hugs*

Most of our discussions involved wonderful things like Something Awful and their founding of the Internet Anti-Furry Coalition, Canada and their political system (and their silly sports like hockey), how much the Bush Administration is fucking everybody over, but we gave up the mature talk about multi-party political systems and socialism after realizing it was too pretentious and decided a much better topic of conversation for our intellectual ineptitude was fandom.

We shared some thoughts on our first shameful fandoms (Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yuugi, Weiss Kreuz) and then started talking about how much we loved the X fantards and how we were planning to explode it one day with barrages of bad 4chan humor and clever photoshopped macros. I think we occupied a good hour or so talking about stupid people, funny people, and stupid & funny people, which happened also to be the hour we were talking about the X fandom.

NEWS FLASH: I AM NOT BITTER. NO BITTERNESS HERE.

I think most of my bitterness is actually the kind of bitterness that Maddox or Something Awful might have for the interbutts, so I guess I'm in good company. Anyways, I learned a couple of fun things from Ari, mostly who the X fandom troll Intelekshual actually is (though how intellectual you'd have to be to misspell your own name is kind of an indicator of what kind of shit went on there), and that I really really really ought to avoid Chuunin, instead of just really really ought to.

Note that everything I've basically been making links to here is from LiveJournal. It has now occured to me that maybe I just ought to avoid the steaming pile of internet bullshit known fondly as Fuckin' L.J. (not to be confused with the Californian shithole known as Fuckin' L.A.). I knew that 4chan had taught me something, just not what.

Anyways, Ari, Rhole, and I had moved onto dicussing games where she proclaimed her love for FF7 awesomeness (it was awesome, I do agree), her love for FF6 (which is the best Square game ever, only just a tad ahead of Chrono Trigger), and her belief that Chrono Trigger is the best RPG in existence. I was considering disagreeing on grounds of Fallout, and she was willing to admit debate on grounds of Deus Ex, but I must have been boring Ari because she glanced down at her watch and began panicking.

Funny how time flies when you're talking about everything and nothing? Gyoza no Oushou has become the place for fangirl ranting and general discussion. Ah, cheap Chinese food.

Anyways, after taking Ari up to Umeda to meet with her friends (she didn't trust not to get lost by herself, and hell, I don't trust myself not to get lost in Umeda's maze of underground malls by myself either), Rhole and I hung around for a bit, took some silly purikura (cause that's the only way to take purikura, my friends), some Taiko no Tatsujin, and I showed her my crack (Sangokushi Taisen!) before we parted ways at 11pm. And now I am here, with two papers to read before I go to sleep at night, and it's almost 1:30am. Thanks HP, for nightshifting me. *grumbles*

I am now very tempted to bring my dirty /b humor, my hilarious Jojo sound effects (MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAAAAAAAA! and WRYYYYYYYYY!) over to the X fandom, so maybe they can take themselves a little less seriously (like this post). But then I realize that I am taking this entire ordeal a little too seriously too, so I give up and just decide to sit back and write some LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL blog entries, instead of doing what I should be doing.

Prism is coming to visit me tomorrow, and in the evening we will be heading up to Amanohashidate, where there is hopefully a beach, wonderful sightseeing, and where I will get to Mel one last time before she goes back to the States. Prism will be staying with me for the rest of the week (too bad not for Sunday, which is the Tenjin Matsuri date), so maybe some Obi/Maul RP will be happening. She's been awfully stuck on Obi lately. X3

Just finished first episode of second season of Battlestar Galactica.
They haven't let me down yet, but I'm a little wary of the next episode, probably because I'm remembering all the Star Trek episodes where they've been boarded.

God I hope this isn't going to turn out like Star Trek.

Don't fail me, Ron Moore.

Thanks very much to Avatrix, who was kind enough to Torrent BSG for me, and upload it on his server. That guy's a real sweety pie. ^_^v BSG for me!

Anyways, SPOILERS FOR SECOND SEASON BSG PILOT commencing now.

...a lot of the internet BSG community is fairly convinced that the next Cylon sleeper agent that is going to be revealed to us is Lt. Gaeta, and that actually yes, the Cylons did manage to get into Galactica's computer network. (See this picture. Whoops.)

Let's see, he's the one who figured out how the unnamed "cylon device" worked. He was working with Baltar on the Cylon detector. Those more anal than me watched the last episode of the last season and said they saw shots specifically of an empty holster on Boomer's hip after she returned from sploding that Cylon Basestar. Somehow, she had a gun behind her while on at central command. Who handed it to her? >____>

Plus, Gaeta's the one going, "we need to network the computers. Let me write a program." Awful sketchy, my friends.

That's all I have to say for now, except for "Wow." O_O I almost cried when the soldier guardian President Roslin's cell asked her to pray with him. That was a nice touch. I love you BSG. :D You make my day complete and full of distracty goodness.

Just finished it.
It's 5am here in Japan, and I have no read any of the papers I was supposed to. Surprised? No, not really.

Cut for spoilers for "Half Blood Prince."

My life is full of irony, in very many ways. Before I get onto the fun stuff, let me tell you how my life continues to mock me.

So, I was playing Sangokushi Taisen at Namco City in Umeda today, usually my favorite place to play. I was standing in line and reading the latest Harry Potter at the same time, for all the world looking like a clueless gaijin with my awesome record of 0-6 at the game playing versus other players.

Anyways, one of the guys waiting next to me offered me a card, and I graciously took it. It was a rare Ma Su card, and since the guy was being sweet to me (probably because I was both a cute girl and a foreigner) I was very happy. He offered me a card slip too, but I told him I already had one. Later, when I was starting to play, he raised his arms in a "fight-o" pose and said, "Ganbare!" I was totally beaming, even though I got my ass handed to me that round. (That's been happening to me all day, practically.) The gift was really sweet, and even though I don't play Shu, I really appreciated the sentiment.

So I usually get one rare card per 3 or 4 games I play. That's pretty good considering the odds, sometimes I just get lucky and the machine likes me. Unfortunately, I think my life mocking me takes predence over everything else, cause guess what card the machine spit out at me after I finished playing. A rare Ma Su card. =_=

Stupid life.

I opened the card's package from the back (that's where the little flap is) and as soon as I saw the little character icon the back, I was like, "No, don't do this to me." :/ My life hates me. I have two rare, shiny Ma Su cards and I can't play Shu because the neither the machines nor my life likes me enough to...say...spit out the super rare Guan Yu or maybe the super rare Cao Cao card would be nice too. Or just any Wei cards in general, cause those are my strongest so far.

*sigh* I am continuously mocked.

Met up with Ari today, and it was awesome. It's a pity she doesn't troll 4chan, because she totally belongs on /b. /b would be her dream board, the way it is mine. She's a nice kid, and we had a good time making fun of shoujo and shounen manga. ^_^ Hopefully on Monday I'll get to hang out with her and Rhole. I hope she has fun in Kyoto this weekend during Gion Matsuri, while I sit here and give into the temptation of reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince because it's more fun that reading papers, despite the fact I really need those papers read. (I might just spend all of Monday morning/afternoon in my room drinking tea, eating cup noodles and reading papers because I have to. Got a presentation to give on Friday too. Boo.)

At any rate, here's a couple quotes from Harry Potter that are hilarious and non-spoilery:

"Two days ago Arkie Philpott had Probity Probe stuck up his..."

"...but at least they were allowed to swear loudly if the Venomous Tentacula seized them unexpectedly from behind."

J.K. Rowling's new book has ANAL PROBES and TENTACLES...seizing you from the behind. Man, this new Harry Potter book has a lot of ass. I hope Draco and Harry finally do it. :/ Or at least something anal happens between those two.

I am laughing my ass off. Holding two Ma Su cards. In plastic cover slips. Being gaijin-y and smelly because I am homeless tonight (I thought I'd be homeless on Monday, but apparently I was wrong) and sleeping in lab in a sleeping bag. Or maybe I just won't sleep, so I can finish Harry Potter and read papers. >_>

A winner is me

...and since I am in lab and bored, and everybody else is at the lab meeting, I can freely browse through images knowing that nobody is looking over my shoulder.

It's Friday today, which spells good to the Battlestar Galactica fans, and bad to everybody on 4chan's /b board, 'cept for the furries with their drama and faggotry.

Those of you who are Star Wars fans, /b tards, and anti-Star Wars fans, might appreciate Anakin's rendition of the meme we love to see on Fridays, KILL IT WITH FIRE.

We all know that everytime Obi-Wan rolls on agility, he cheats to get that 20. The bastard.

..and the presentation is over! ^_^ Considering how little actual preparation I had, I think I managed it quite well.

Prism is coming to visit me for all of next week, so I'm not likely to be around much in lab, and hence no internet. But who knows? As soon as Avatrix posts the new Battlestar Galactica up, I will make a special trip to lab with my laptop, because Battlestar Galactica is some serious roxx0rs. O_O;;

Damn all you people who have SciFi in the States and can watch it as it airs today/tomorrow. T______T I hope I shall not be far behind. (Oh right, Harry Potter comes out soon too... Hmmm....)

Ari is coming to Kansai for the Gion Festival tomorrow, and since Cocoa has been talking about her for so long, I'm glad I finally get to meet her. Unfortunately I may be screwed over my obligations in lab, because there are papers that I have to read before I take the week off. >_> Curses. Is it the middle of July already? Hot damn, it's not fair. I only have three more weeks here in lab. (Two weeks, counting the week where I'm only going to be semi-around, if at all.) T_T I will totally miss the guys again, and now I'm all depressed. ...wah.

weekly music rotation

| | Comments (7)

It seems that my friends have taken to starting this thing where they upload a couple of tracks and try get their hapless friends to severely question their musical tastes.

This week, you guys get to give me weird looks.

Flow - Everything All Right

Flow is one of my favorite Japanese bands, probably because of their popular punk sound. This is one of the bests songs ever to pick yourself up to, because bouncing in your chair is fun. Hell, sometimes I just get up and dance. Check it out.

Tally Hall - Good Day

Describing themselves as "a wonky rock band" University of Michigan's Tally Hall is pretty wonky. That's seriously the only word I can think of to describe their sound. They're probably everything that will make you fondly think back on your good old college days, or look forward to the years you have left. They've got one of those geeky sounds you can't possibly hate, like They Might Be Giants only better.

The Servant - Liquefy

Some of you guys might know The Servant from their song 'Cells' which was featured as the BGM for one of the trailers for the movie "Sin City." And a good song (and movie) it was. I loved their sound so much I actually bought their album. While "Cells" is still undoubtedly my favorite song from this eclectic British band, "Liquefy" comes in at a close second place.

My head is killing me. This isn't some regular headache but something I feel might be related to the fact that the past few nights, my pillow has been bugging the hell out of me. (It all started Saturday night, when Mel's rock pillow was upsetting me, and suddenly now everything is upsetting me.)

My neck wasn't sore today, but it was yesterday, and I've got this odd shooting/throbbing sort of pain everytime I bounce too high when I walk up the stairs or if I turn my head funny.

Do you guys have any idea what might be wrong with me?

The clone tagged me for this meme, so I guess I have no choice but to obey.

Pick 10 fictional characters you'd have sex with and then tag 5 friends.

This is where my huge amount of 'nerd' comes out and blindsides y'all. I find it amusing that most the names on this list are men, despite the fact that I vastly prefer to sleep with women. >_> Go figure. Fictional men are more interesting than fictional women, I suppose.

1. Edgar Roni Figaro (Final Fantasy VI)
2. Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
3. Hotohori (Fushigi Yuugi)
4. Darth Maul (Star Wars)
5. Bridget (Guilty Gear)
6. Aeryn Sun (Farscape)
7. Haplo (The Death Gate Cycle)
8. Sharon Valerii "Boomer" (Battlestar Galactica)
9. Brandon Heat (Gungrave)
10. Jadzia Dax (Star Trek: DS9)

Note that most of the male characters I wouldn't mind hitting the sack with I regularly slash with other male characters. *scratches head* So I know it'll never get them. T_T But we all know that watching is just as fun as participating. X3

and now I'm supposed to tag 5 people, but I secretly want to sleep with way more than that:

- Ali-chan
- Avatrix
- RedStarRobot
- Asphodel
- PrismGecko
- Cocoa
- Malima

...and there you go, my friends. Take it away!

SQUEE

| | Comments (7)

Anybody ever wonder where the fangirl term "squee" came from? Cause last I remember Squee was that poor traumatized kid living next door to Nny, whose evil teddy bear's name was Shmee.

I feel a sudden yearning for my JTHM, which is back home somewhere in a box. I am saddened.

Prism is making me full of fangirl squee. She is one evil mother feeding one of my dark, happy, fangirly fantasies. *licks lips* Mmmmm...many kudos to her. If only this wasn't coming during a busy week. T_T

not going to Otakon

| | Comments (7)

Forgot to post you guys that I won't be making it to Otakon this year, because I will still be in Japan that weekend. ^_^ I hope you guys have a lot of fun, I'm really sad I'll miss both the 4chan and the Something Awful gathering there. ._.

I found out over the weekend that musical guests this year are going to be The Indigo and Piano Squall. >_> While I do like all of the one The Indigo song I've heard, they're not on my list of "I'd totally haul ass to go" (Which is only Asia-Kung, Flow, and Orange Range.)

Sorry, guys. Good news for me, cause I guess it'll cost me less. >_> Take pretty pictures for me. ^_^

Also, did you guys know that Orange Range basically has boy band status here in Japan? XD Apparently their only fans are teenage girls along the same lines of KinKi Kids or SMAP (basically the equivalents of N'Sync and Backstreet Boys in the States). My faith in the awesomeness of Orange Range has been severely shaken. T_T *sad*

I'm going to put more of my faith in Flow, who do, to my knowledge, compose their own songs. And in Asia-Kung, despite the fact every single song of theirs almost sounds the same, and often when I'm listening to their albums (especially Kunkei Five) I can't tell when the tracks have changed. >_>

WRYYYYYYYYY

| | Comments (7)

I just got back from seeing Episode III with all the guys in lab. I think somewhere in the translation the whole cheesiness of Anakin and Padme's "lovely river of loving" (as VG Cats put it) got lost in Japanese, because a lot of my labmates were asking why I was trying to club myself into unconsciousness. They escaped the torture! Curses!

Anyways, I actually found myself better able to enjoy it the second time around, because I could tune out all the talking and focus on the action. :D The special effects were good, the action was fun, and they left the ending "NOOooooOOOOoooOO!!!11!" untranslated. I was expecting something along the lines of "usooooo!" or "WRYYYYYYYYY", but they left it as is, so I guess I can't fault them on a bad translating job. (I also can't congradulate them for making the script better, but oh well.)

Mel spent a couple of minutes on the train today trying to convince me that Obi/Anakin works, and I am still unconvinced. As forced (harharhar) as the romance between Padme and Anakin might be, they're still, you know, the canon couple. I don't care if Obi-Wan is holding onto Anakin in the elevator shaft (oh no, he's holding on for dear life, so much t3h gayxx0rs) or if he screams "I loved you!" (note the past tense), it's just not right. :/ Anakin loves Padme so much it makes him a stupidhead.

What really annoys me about some yaoi/slash fangirls is their complete and total incomprehension of the existence of a non-physical, non-gay, non-smut kind of platonic love. There definitely are friends that I `love` and friends that I might be willing to give my life for, but that doesn't mean that I want to get with them in bed. *rolls eyes* I do believe in a kind of brotherly love, and it kind of annoys me when that is twisted into something sexual when obviously it isn't. I guess I don't like it because it devalues the preexisting platonic love, and I don't that should be it. I also really don't like Master/Apprentice relationships because of the inequity of power and the trust involved...Or maybe I just hate anything other than Obi/Maul.

...yeah, that's probably it.

Anyways, I spent Saturday afternoon at a wonderful, authentic Nepalese restaurant somewhere in the Hotarugaike area. It was wonderful having actual curry instead of what the Japanese pretend is "curry," and I spent the afternoon at the Namco center in Umeda playing the hell out of Sangokushi Taisen. I finally got the guts to start playing online versus people, and I've gotten my ass smashed, minced, ground, and handed to me on a silver platter with a parsley garnish twice, and managed to play to a draw once. I think both times I got whooped was playing with people at least 10 ranks above me, so I don't feel so bad. I know people are watching behind me as I play, but given the fact that a lot of people I watch lose their online battles, it's not like I've shamed my ancestors or anything. I've just got to keep on truckin', and see if I can find a decent balance between the 'tank' strategy and the 'magic' strategy.

So Saturday night I went to Mel's place, where there was a small party for her since she's leaving on Thursday, but only about 3 other people showed up besides me. Oh well. We got up in the morning and headed to Namba, where I showed her the crack, and she actually thought it was pretty cool. :D Then we met up with Rocco, and we took him karaokeing with us (which is always a blast; I'm really sad that Mel's leaving because then my anime fangirl karaoke buddy will be gone...*looks meaningfully at Rhole). We also showed him the K-Books in Den Den Town, because we decided that Rocco needed more gay porn in his life, since he's read Mark McClelland's book and seemed interested in it. :D Go Rocco!

I spent the entire day feeling shitty. My lower back is sore, my throat is sore, and I have a headache, and it wasn't until after Episode III that I realized it's not a hangover that I have, it's probably a fever.

But given that I have a presentation this weekend, and an abstract for that presentation that I have to send out by tomorrow...

GODFUCKINGDAMMIT I have so much work.

I'm going to retreat into my dark, Sithly cave of Maul/Obi OTP and deal in the morning. *groan*

Much love to PrismGecko who seems to be willing to RP my OTP with me. GLEE, I tell you. I am full of glee.

I'm delusional...whee!

Reaching out to the Force, Obi-Wan leapt out of the pit and dropped as soon as his feet hit solid ground, extending a leg and to sweep Maul's feet from under him. Maul recovered too late from his bewilderment as he sailed over the edge and into the pit. Obi-Wan jumped back onto his feet, flexed his fingers still stiff from clinging to the pit, and peered over the edge, expecting to see Maul growling at him. 'Cause that was pretty hot.

::You bastard!:: came Maul's voice from inside the pit, and Obi-Wan realized, startled, that Maul wasn't hanging on at the edge but was instead sailing further and further down the center of the shaft, where he was too far to grab onto any handholds, and gravity was doing a pretty job at spiriting him downwards and fast.

Obi-Wan paused momentarily, not entire sure what to do. He was damn sure neither of them had the foresight to bring any of the rope they'd used on each other earlier that morning. “Well, fuck me,” thought Obi-Wan, sure that by the time Maul got halfway to bottom "oops" just wasn’t going to cut it. Giving a last glance at his surroundings, Obi-Wan took a deep breath and dived in. ::I'm coming!::

Just finished the Star Wars marathon. Woo! I'll have watched all six mind-numbingly Lucas episodes in one week. Somebody give me an antidote to Lucasness, or my heads going to explode.

:D And I had this HUGE grin on my face the entire time Darth Maul was on screen. (You know, all of like...5 minutes.) Ah, that takes me back. ^_________^

I really ought to write more of this shit. So much to write, so little time.

Why I'm a dork

| | Comments (7)

Got tagged by Ali-chan for this meme. If you feel like my confessions violate your mind go blame her. ^_^

Or just blame t3h intarwebs like everybody else. Cause it's true, the internet is not only for porn, it also makes you stupid.

5 Reasons I'm a Dork
(There are actually probably about 20+ reasons why I'm a dork, but I decided to pick some of the most interesting ones.)

ONE: Whose is that Face in the Mask
I hesitate to call it a fetish, because it doesn't sexually arouse me, but masks are one of the things that never fails to pique my interest and curiosity. I didn't even want to see Kingdom of Heaven until I saw screenshots of Edward Norton's character, and there's a reason I nearly bounced out of my chair during the movie, and it wasn't just Ed Norton's acting. *melt*

And well, the mask gives +10 sex appeal to the Phantom, while the voice is only +2. That should tell you where my priorities are lying.

TWO: May the Force Be With You/Live Long and Prosper
I've had a rocky relationship with Star Wars (I was in denial that I was a Star Wars fan for a long time, until Darth Maul converted me in 1999 and made me a born-again fan), but I've always been a devoted Trekkie. My Trekkie-ness has faded since Enterprise came on air, but given the fact that the Star Trek MMO is the only MMO I'm considering playing at all, I think that says something about what I am at the core of my being. :D

And the fact that Darth Maul/Obi-Wan was the pairing that converted me into being a slash fangirl in the first place, and will always be my Star Wars OTP also heaps some dork points upon yours truly.

THREE: I Slash Therefore I am
Paul once asked me what the turnaround time is for me seeing a creative work and then dreaming up slash for it. The answer is somewhere between 5 seconds and one week. It depends on how much time I have at the moment, but I was definitely slashing Baldwin and Balian from Kingdom of Heaven within six hours of seeing the movie. And two of those hours were the time it took to watch the movie. Hell, I became the mod of a Baldwin-slash-centric community within those six hours too. >_> Obsessive? Obsessive-compulsive? Probably both.

The only two types of slash I refuse to do are: RPS (real person slash) purely based on principles of respect, and anything to do with Chinese wu-xia. Cause Jing Yong and Gu Long are just too sacred to write hot gay porn/romance about. Those are the ONLY TWO things I refuse to do. Everything else is basically fair game.

FOUR: Dress Me Up, Dress Me Down
Cosplay is a lot of fun. The blood, sweat, and tears that goes into making a costume kind of sucks sometimes, but donning the costume is one of the coolest things ever. I guess I never grew out of playing dress-up as a kid. And hey, there's nothing better than playing dress-up and running around a large space as one of your favorite male characters. It's a strange kind of power/fantasy trip that really goes to my head.

(I WILL have Legato redone one day. And Holy Orders Sol. And then I will pwnz the world.)

FIVE: I Still Don't Have A Girlfriend yet
I could be playing games like Dragon Dragoon here in Japan, but no, instead I find myself buying girls dating sims like Gakuen Heaven and Meine Liebe, and getting addicted to an arcade machine based CCG strategy game called Sangokushi Taisen.

The only thing that would make me a nerdier gamer were if I were to actually play MMOs.

I now tag five other people to show me their dorkiness! :D Yar!

- Crystal/ShadowButterfly
- Avatrix
- RatherBrightRed
- Eike
- and PrismGecko

Anybody else who wants to do this has also been tagged. X3

Serious things, like London, will be added on in another post.

tastes like burning...

| | Comments (7)

GAH! I had some takoyaki with Seiji yesterday and it burnt the roof of my mouth. It was so hot in fact, that I blistered up there, and the blister even broke. The roof of my mouth is now very tender and hurts when I eat or drink anything. =___=;; I blame Seiji, who told me the takoyaki's heat was "bearable."

I think we have different definitions of that word.

Watched "Empire Strikes Back" yesterday. Haven't seen it since...oh...seventh grade? It's definitely been a good 8 years or so, I think. I agree with the common notion that Empire may be the best Star Wars film. Not being directed or screenwritten by George Lucas makes for a great plus. And is it just me, or did Yoda lose a whole shitload of marbles in those twenty years on Dagobah? You'd think that being a Jedi Master, and a supposedly wise and kickass one at that he'd be able to at least hold onto a couple.

Still disappointed with the fight scenes, but I suppose Luke gets his mojo back later when the Yuuzhan Vong launch their massive assault. Whee! Time for me to go and crawl back into my lair, where I read papers all day in lab (or at least pretend to) and yearn for a nearby crack Sangokushi Taisen source.

Say CHEESE!

Finally got off my lazy ass and got my pictures from Japan uploaded. ^_^ They are all in this folder, but here are some annotated highlights of the trip:

- Eike and Kevin at A Bar, along with the rest of the group. At the end of the night, I decided I need a shot of me, this guy, and his kickass shirt.

- Kinkakuji, the golden pavililion. Absolutely gorgeous at 8am, despite how sleepy I was. ^_^

- Ginkakuji, the silver pavilion. Not quite as flashy as Kinkakuji, but definitely has a better view.

- The entrance of Kiyomizu-dera, one of my favorite temples. This temple too has some awesome, sights. It even comes with silly MIT students like Lily, getting in touch with her cowboy roots.

- Here's Mel being a spazz while trying to fit through the hole in the pillar in Toudaiji. Supposedly if you can fit through you'll have good luck and fortune throughout your life. ^_^ Rudy was the first to bet Mel 500 yen that he could fit through, and I followed suit not long after. The hole is the size of the nostril of Toudaiji's giant Buddha statue. The largest indoor statue in Japan, I think.

- The crew molesting some poor deer. (Left to right: Rudy, Mel, Lily, and Luv.) I managed to snag a photo of Rudy and Dan in the middle of some sketchy midnight activity while we were at Nara. Don't look so surprised guys, you can keep doing what you're doing. I'm just going to sit here with my camera and watch.

The labatory! Don't forget to go before boarding the bus. ^_~

That's all the pictures for now, friend, until I get my ass traveling again.

One Week

| | Comments (7)

..it's marathon week! I'm running Star Wars here for the guys, since a lot of them haven't seen the entire trilogy or are missing a couple of episodes here and there.

I guess I can't blame them, maybe Japan was the first realize what a crappy screenwriter Lucas really was and took measures to contain the infection. ...or something like that. Or maybe they were just being Japanese.

At least the old trilogy is 80% (or more!) watchable. :D

I hope this catapaults me back in Maul/Obi-Wan. I really need to write more of that pairing, since I've had a novella size fic bouncing around my head for a while. I wish I had enough writing stamina (and time) for everything. *AUGH* One thing at a time, I suppose.

It's a busy week this week, since I'm the one who's doing all the literature reviewing for this paper we're writing of my results from last year. Yipha. >_> I guess better me than anybody else in the lab, since I'm the one who speaks t3h English.

So! Star Wars marathon every single night this week, lunch with Kanako on Saturday, Mel's farewell/loot my fridge party on Saturday night, shopping/gaming/karaoke with Mel on Sunday, and then Episode III on Sunday night. I hope somewhere in there, I get to squeeze in 7 games of Sangokushi Taisen. Maybe Friday. I'll take that day off early and go play...or something. =_=;; Nope. *cough* Not addicted at all... >_>

Midmorning BLAH

| | Comments (7)

My body is broken. T_T Still have some diarrhea (okay, my fault for not taking the medicine regularly), the monthlies haven't hit (it's turning into semi-monthly now, I swear), and now my hypoglycemia is acting up. Ugh, I just want to roll over and pass out somewhere, not that it'll help things.

I had some miso soup in the morning and I just had a glass of soy milk, but I don't think my body thinks that's very helpful. :/ I just want to go back to sleep, where I was snogging with Jeremy Irons in my dreams. (That fucking ruled.) I think my brain is telling me I ought to keep writing Tiberias/Baldwin. *coughs*

Now if only my body would stop bouncing off the walls, maybe I could concentrate and be productive. :/ BLAH.

going on week 7...

| | Comments (7)

My body hates me. It's never been regular or consistent, and the uncertainty just makes it worse. *bangs head on wall* I need to make it to the pharmacy soon before my own paranoia kills me.

And yeah...otakon...it's less than 50 days, and why haven't you announced the musical guest yet? Damn you.

I need some Sangokushi Taisen to calm my nerves. :/

{EDIT} - Okay, now I know my body is fucking with me. Thanks, body. If I pull another of those 10 week stunts, my own hormones are going to kill me, I won't even need to do anything. BLAH.

Money goes where...?

| | Comments (7)

Skuld has found it a new money/time sink. It's called Sangokushi-Taisen. There's something incredibly addicting about a computer based CCG game (where you actually do get to have real cards) that's linkable to anywhere else in Japan. Jesus. No wonder they're getting all of my money. They don't have shit like this in the states.

Anyways, I spent Saturday with Mikio and Yoshiya at the Game Centers (which is how you say 'Arcade' in Japanese) figuring out and playing the game. I didn't manage to do too well at first, but today I think I've really started to get the hang of it. You know, after getting a couple of downright badass cards. ^_^ If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough. ^_^

So I hit Comic City Osaka today, which was pretty small as far as a comic con goes. About 1/7 or 1/8 the size of any given day of Comiket, maybe even smaller than that because there really weren't that many people around. Lucky me, I escaped with only 4 doujinshi. Some of my favorite circles were there (Yubinbasya, Adult Children, Omega 2-D, Wolfgung) but overall there wasn't very much there worth buying. I was being very picky about doujinshi and binsen today, my only swag is:

- 2 Death Note doujinshi (one of them a hilarious Omega 2-D parody)
- 3 binsen (stationery, 1 from Yubinbasya, the other two from this girl who had the most gorgeous art I've ever seen)
- 1 Adult Children Harry/Draco doujinshi called "The Hentai Book of Hentai." (Couldn't pass it up!)
- 1 Lucci/Paulie One Piece doujinshi (it was Lucci/Paulie! I couldn't possibly pass it up.)
- 1 Chibi L pin
- 1 Nakajima Gakuen Heaven phone strap
- 2 Guilty Gear glass/cups (Sol and Ky of course, been trying to find them FOR FREAKING EVER!)

So yeah, not bad. :D Much shorter than the list I accumulated at Comiket. I'm probably going to splurge there...but hopefully less than last time? >_> Yes?

I'm very sad that Royal Garden wasn't at Comic City today. ._. They're my favoritest One Piece circle ever. *sniffles* And they live in Osaka too. *cries* And I won't be in the country for the special Zoro/Luffy Only Event.

Anyways, another reason I could pass up the HariDora (Harry/Draco) "Hentai Book of Hentai" is because it has some of the best Engrish I have ever seen in my entire life:

To begin with, this "Hentai Book of Hentai" is the Hentai, for the Hentai, by the Hentai. It is very enjoyable to all Haridora ladies.
We printed this book for widely knows Hentai-Haridora in the world. If you change to be a Hentai-lady by reading this book, we get much pleasure!
At the and, we would like to express out sincere thanks to you for you take our book.

Now then, let's page it and fly into the world of delusion!

You guys have no idea how hard it was not to LAUGH MY FUCKING ASS OFF right there as I was holding the book. It was so hard not to burst into outright laughter trying to buy it. (Should've asked for a sukebu, but I've already got a Harry Draco one. ._. Damn.)

I wasn't planning to head to Umeda this afternoon to spend all my money on Sangokushi Taisen, but Mel overslept and ditched me. >_> She overslept so much she woke up at 7pm. She thinks her thyroids are unhappy, cause there's no reason to sleep for 16 hours unless you've got something seriously wrong. O-o;; Poor kid. *pats* She'll have to make up ditching me later, probably by going to play more Sangokushi Taisen with me and kicking ass at karaoke.

I have a find a source crack around me. Going to Umeda is annoying and expensive, especially if I want to play at least once a day on average. T_T
