I've barely had a week of classes, and I'm hosed already. No surprise there, I think. Urgh.
I'm starting to work out with Andy at the gym, doing some weightlifting and some running/biking on the machines. We're trying to go three times a week, and I am sore as hell today, as I have been for the past three days. FUCK. OW. Somebody should start a betting to pool to see when I give up on the staying fit thing.
I punched a wall on Friday afternoon, and now two of my knuckles on my right hand are bruised. I thought I was punching the wall right, but I suppose even with the correct technique, punching a wall has gotta do SOMETHING to your hand. I was really pissed off at the post office for failing to deliver my books I ordered from Amazon, and I was even more mad that the lady at the post office (who was dumb as a brick) couldn't find them when I went there. She made me call the phone number of the post office I just went to when I got back home, and then they told me to call them back at 8-8:30am next the day. I just lost it then, look off my class ring, and punched the elevator wall. It felt good, but typing still kind of hurts.
And of course, I called at 8:30 the next morning and nobody answered the fucking phone. How typical. If it wasn't for the fact that I was so frustrated I hurt myself (something I do very rarely), I would laugh.
Man, I miss having that punching bag in the Fenway House bikeshed. I've wailed on it pretty hard before. God.
Watched a lot of football yesterday. This is what happens when you've got roommates who are from Big 10 schools (Purdue and UMich). I laughed at both of them for losing and dropping out of the rankings, and then I was astounded by UCLA's win over Cal-Berkeley. WTF? UCLA is one of the sloppiest teams (we'd get creamed by any Big 10 team, and totally stomped on by USC) I've seen play, and yet somehow we always manage to win when it comes to crunch time. Some teams are like that, I suppose. I can't believe we're undefeated. We've jumped up in the rankings quite a bit, too. Now we're 12th, with (of course) USC still leading. I wonder when someone's going to put us in our place.
And the lesson of the week is:
- don't fall behind on your reading
- get more sleep
- don't punch walls, punch people
- the USPS sucks
