Anybody here have experience with setting up data servers? Any recommendations on what hardware to use or what way is a good way to set shit up?
My lab doesn't haven't a central data server, so everything we have is stored on some 5-6 individual computers and burnt DVDs. This is a big pain in the ass because data can get lost easily, so I want to set up a central server for storing data, preferably working with some Windows File Sharing sort of protocol. Anybody have suggestions of what hardware I should be looking to get, or point me directions that might give me some ideas?
