EDIT: I forgot to add that unlike my original guess, the pre-rendered cut scenes actually do have Ming in them, even after the hack. Interesting little glitches that popped up were at the beginning, just after Master Li explodes the Lotus Assassin boat on the beach, the townsfolk described Ming the way they would've described Wu. Interestingly though, when I got to the Imperial City and the guards were going by the description of the Scourge of the South, they described Ming's physical characteristics. Huh. I guess certain events access the "appearance" attributes (which were Ming) as opposed to the "player" (Wu the Lotus Blossom) attributes, but by and large most of the dialogue and the romance is dependent on the "player." Good to know.
