punting

So of the things on my to do list for last night:
- check state taxes
- write check to Mom & Dad
- call Roni
- blog about Vegas trip last week
- order Ethics textbook online
- read 3 papers for journal club
- hack Jade Empire

the only thing I got done was "check state taxes" and I ended up doing that this morning. :( What was I doing the rest of the time? Watching B5, watching the Colbert Report reruns, and playing Jade Empire. Guess which one of the three took up the bulk of my time.

I have a theory that if I hack come Jade Empire code, replace some of the female character models with the male character models, or even manage to change some of a character's attributes, I think I can still get my Sky/"male" PC kiss without the blackout. The same theory of course, would also apply to me getting the "female" PC/Silk Fox kiss without the blackout. This assumes of course, that the rendered cut scenes will read which model I'm using, which is a pretty big assumption. Good thing is, if the assumption is faulty I'll know early on. Given that there are screenshots of a Scholar Ling/Silk Fox kiss on the intarwebs, I'm willing to bet this theory of mine may be sound. But you never know until you try. X3 Okay, goal for this weekend. Homework, Friends, hacking JE. In that order hopefully.

On an entirely different note, I just finished Babylon 5 episode 2x16, "In the Shadows of Z'ha'dum." Which I thought was actually a decent-ish episode. I think my problem with B5 is that I've lowered my standards to match the standards of the show, so instead of every episode having terrible writing and terrible acting and terribly obvious plot devices, everything is now just sort of "tolerable" to me.

So Comma and I originally decided that we would sit it out until the middle of season 2 before we decided we didn't care enough to watch the rest of the show, but now we've extended that to the middle of the first disc of season 3. We're holding out on that one episode that we'll watch and suddenly it'll change our lives and we'll realize the true brilliance of B5...but I gotta ask those of you guys who've watched this series, there is no episode like that is there?
